Weekend Trip to Pastimes on Passage Creek Ranch

We absolutely loved our time at Eric’s place. We stayed at the spot by the lake and truly loved every minute. The property is stunning and very well manicured and cared for. Our kids fished and kayaked for hours on end, we listened to the crazy frogs, walked to the creek, disconnected and truly had the best time. Even the portapotties were clean! We couldn’t recommend this place more. We also hiked the Buzzard Rock trail which is only a few minutes down the road. If you’re looking to unplug from life and just rest and soak in nature, this is the place!

Me and my girlfriend loved staying at the Dark hollows it’s at the top of the hill tucked away in a corner site which give lil bit more privacy than other sites that are offered. Campsite had everything you ever need to glamp… from running water , skillets etc. to shower and bathroom. Fantastic experience overall

This was an absolutely amazing experience. It was a wonderful and the property owner is a great guy. All three sites are amazing and super remote. The privacy you have at any of the campsites as a music.

2 nights at Stoney Creek Campground

I really enjoy staying at Stoney Creek. This was the second visit first was site #3 this was #9. I enjoyed #9 as it was by the creek. The host Chris has and continues to make improvements to the property. Chris does what he can to accommodate the campers. There is a country store very near which carries anything needed. Stoney Creek is close the Peaks of Otter and many hiking trails. Other sites like D-Day Memorial is near by. Bathhouse is also a plus. I will definitely be returning. Thank You Chris for providing such a pleasant place to stay.

1 night at Savage Acres on Craig Creek

Beautiful private area down by the river. Probably need a higher clearance vehicle to make it down to the riverside campsite, but there are a couple other spots with easier access. Great stay and would do it again when I’m in the area!

1 night at James River Depot

James river depot is super awesome, the site is right next to the water and has a fire pit, picnic table, and grate that you can cook on, as well as a porta potty. Really cool if you are into trains

A lovely spot. Had all the basics, and everything was in good condition.

1 night at Bears Den Campground

It rained during the day so everything was a bit wet, luckily there was a lean-to with a fireplace so we were able to stay warm and cook food. Good experience.

1 night at Watercress Inn at Landon Farm

We had an excellent time visiting butterfly farm. This is truly a unique place to camp. We took our little one with us who is still getting used to camping and the environment was so interesting with plenty of hiking trails that were just challenging enough. We loved visiting all the animals. You can tell Jennifer is passionate about her farm and the creatures who inhabit. We will definitely visit again!

1 night at Stoney Creek Campground

Amazing campsite along with an amazing host. Our site was right next to the calm river with a view of the beautiful mountains. I needed some fire wood in the morning so i let Chris know and he brought it right to me. I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone who wants a quick and quiet experience.

1 night at Camp Shenandoah Meadows

We decided to go up to the mountains on a whim and glamping at Shenandoah Meadows made it more than worth while. Nothing like a hot shower on a mountain and coffee by the fire . Even our pup had a blast. We had more than enough room in the bunk house. Customer service was top tier! Can’t wait to come back again .

Jenn was a great host! She introduced us to all the animals and even let us bottle feed the lambs. Farm store has essentials. Wonderful stay, 100% recommend!!!!

2 nights at Thunder BRidge

This is a hidden gem! Adam is a superb host, kindly accommodating our later-than-planned arrival and providing us with all of the information needed for making our stay there fabulous. Definitely take Adam up on his offer of firewood -- we enjoyed several nights by the fireside gazing up at clear night skies (unusual for where we live). We selected a "rustic" RV site as we had ample electricity and didn't need to continuously fill our water tanks, but it was really nice to have water and electricity options close-by for quickly charging my laptop, re-filling our RV water tank, and dumping our grey water. This is an ideal place to bring dogs as there is so much space to explore -- 100 acres, including a creek! Our four nights at Adam's campground with our two dogs was the relaxing vacation we needed. It also was well situated for exploring the Natural Bridge, Lexington and other attractions in the area. I would jump at the chance to return in the future. Adam is a great host!

Thunder BRidge was a wonderful place to camp! It was beautiful, everything was well-kept, Adam was super prompt, and Natural Bridge + Devil's Marbleyard were just a short drive away. We loved our site. It would be even prettier in the summer! Definitely book with Thunder BRidge!

Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky.

We are one hour southwest of D.C. and one hour northeast of Charlottesville. During your stay you can sample from one of the many wineries/breweries in the area. If your traveling with your horse, we have indoor stalls and turnout available.

100 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by various roads/trails throughout. Over the years cutting roads has been a hobby that has resulted in miles of cleared pathways throughout the property that are perfect for hiking, running, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a small stream, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature with no one else around. Things to watch out for other than the wildlife mentioned above the two main concerns in this part of Virginia are deer ticks and poison ivy. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, big foot siting's as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.

If you are fortunate enough to be here when the waterman return to the dock with their fresh catch of crabs or oysters--- they just might sell you some right off of the boat! Nothing is better than a truly fresh meal of Chesapeake Bay seafood, and the harvest that lands at our docks is world class. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Yorktown, VA. which offers many historic and modern attractions, including an excellent white sand swimming beach. 35 minutes from Williamsburg, Va. with it's many historic attractions and visitor amenities. 35 minutes from Busch Gardens and Water Country theme parks, and 1 hr from King's Dominion theme park. Be aware that this is a working waterfront, and as such you should expect very early activity and noise as commercial fisherman head out in pursuit of their days catch. Situated in an area of coastal salt marsh which can become "buggy" when the wind is still. Have insect repellent available. Host is a seasoned camper and regularly boondocks in a camper van.

Trilogy is a suspended tree tent in the pines 700' beyond that and seperated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an offgrid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property. Each site is surronded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large feild. There are romaing guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

Savage Acres on Craig Creek

In a remote valley just north of Roanoke VA, along the banks of Craig's Creek, the property includes mature hardwood forest, pasture, and an 1830s log cabin where we live. We love to share this special place with visitors, and have some basic amenities for campers. The campsites are at the edge of a large pasture and just a few steps from the creek and our big swimmin' hole. Totally secluded in a remote valley - barely a house in sight (but our cabin is a short walk through the woods if you need something), no cell service for most providers, but within a short drive of Roanoke and Blacksburg, and countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

Bear Chase Brewery is just a half mile walk across the street, and we are 15 miles from Purcellville. The land and lodge used to be the summer home of a trained opera singer, whose singing could be heard throughout the mountain. Your Host lives onsite in the stone house that also acts as a hostel for hikers on the Appalachian Trail. Built in the 1930's all from locally sourced hand-hammered stone, the house is open every night from 5pm - 9pm. Note that we offer several campsites relatively close to each other, so you should expect to see and hear other campers on the property during your stay. About the listing Pitch your tent in a forested area just a short walk up from where you’ll park your car. Enjoy unbeatable proximity to hiking and panoramic views while still having basic amenities that ensure a comfortable stay. You’ll have access to a composting pit toilet, and can access potable water from the tap in the lodge. That’s also where you can access hot showers. As noted above, we host Appalachian Trail thru hikers on the property, so you may see them hanging around or sleeping in the bunkhouse near the shared facilities. so please be respectful of hours when you come in for a shower. No showers after 10 pm For meals, we have picnic tables, and you are encouraged to cook over the fire pits that accompany each site. Please practice Leave No Trace practices during your stay, as the property has raccoons and other critters who will be drawn to any food scraps that are left behind. Pets are allowed! Private Farm Minutes to Cville

This was a 55-acre farm, split in half to accommodate a bypass through Charlottesville, so the previous owners had to give up half the land, and actually moved the house down to the other half of the property! They had to build a land bridge to get to the new home site, so they turned the bridge into a dam and created a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo. My wife Stephanie and I bought the property in early 2017 and have turned it into a private horse farm, adding pastures, a riding ring, and 6-stall barn. There are ~21 horses who live on the property. The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd.
