We are 10km from the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The best camping near The Palms National Park guide

Overview

About

Nestled in Southern Queensland Country, The Palms National Park invites you to immerse yourself in a tranquil enclave of piccabeen palms and diverse wildlife. Venture along the short circuit track, where the rainforest whispers secrets of ancient times, and the local fauna playfully engages visitors in a natural symphony. Although camping is not available within the park, the allure of a bush picnic or a leisurely walk through the rainforest beckons.

When to go

The best time to visit The Palms National Park is during the cooler months, from April to September, when the climate is mild and the risk of storms is lower. Summer brings warmer temperatures and the chance of rain, making it less ideal for those looking to explore the park's walking tracks and picnic areas.

Know before you go

  • Check local road conditions with the Department of Transport and Main Roads before your visit.
  • Facilities at The Palms are not wheelchair accessible, so plan accordingly.
  • Bring essentials like a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water.
  • Domestic animals are not permitted, ensuring the protection of native wildlife.
  • Mobile phone coverage is unreliable, so prepare to be out of service during your visit.
