Description

"Wanna really get away from it all?" The dense forest of the Big Bear Lake area already provides plenty of natural privacy, but you can take that a step further with Bluff Mesa Group Campground, which offers just a handful of sites and sparse amenities, including vault toilets but leaving water and trash up to you. Come as you are and enjoy exclusive access to hiking, biking and even rock-climbing trails. Then pack it out, leaving no trace behind, with mad respect for nature, yo.

For $150 per night, you too can sleep next to human feces. It’s a beautiful campsite, the problem is the toilet there is full and has not been pumped. Campers have taken it upon themself to make their own restrooms, all over the campsite itself. Poop pits, toilet paper, poop on toilet paper- you name it. Not only that but as a previous reviewer mentioned, there was strangers who pulled up early one morning to meander around without acknowledging us which was a little unnerving given the fact that this campsite is the furthest group site out there on it’s own trail. Though the area is nice, we now refer to this campsite as the “poop pits” and won’t be returning.
