This is a primitive campsite. It is a grassy area to park your campervan or set up your tent. While work is going into the site to improve it's functionality, it is not up and running yet. we have a toilet onsite and tables where you can set up your kitchen, however there are no showers and you wil need to pack it in and out.

The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

From the South GPS is very accurate to our driveway. Coming from the North, GPS may drop you a few driveways away as that is the property line. Keep driving about another 1/8th mile until you see the large red "Cornerstone Ranch" sign. That is our driveway. Welcome...
The ranch offers 6 different campsites. Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a toilet in off season and Port-A-Potties during the summer on site as well.

When we woke up we got to visit with the horses, use the really clean port-potty, and chat with Bonnie and Chris the Hosts. The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

Beautiful campsite and very responsive/kind host. Close to a lot of activities and things to do. Our 35 ft trailer was a snug fit in turning around but we were able to make it work and had so much space for our dogs to run and explore within the safety on the fence. We even got to feed/pet the highland cattle and mini horses on our last day which just topped off the trip for my daughter and I. ❤️

Accurately described by the host and easy to find. Accessible on public roads and pull onto a solid grass area. Electric hook up and water worked well. Also a serviceable picnic table. Bathrooms with showers had hot water, were clean and well maintained. Site was pretty quiet (just two visitors) and occasional dog barks from the residents. It worked well for four nights and I'd come back.

My boyfriend and I camped here with the intent to visit Brookings OR, the campground was so beautiful we didn't end up going lol! Dar, the campsite host, was super friendly and welcoming. The animals are really friendly and we loved staying here. Amenities included flush toilets, hot showers, kitchen area with power, shared firepit. We're already planning our next trip here!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Jacob's Riverside Gem! It's rustic enough to feel adventurous and homey enough to feel warm and comfy in the winter. It's obvious that Jacob has put a lot of heart and soul into this little cabin because of all the artistic touches you will find throughout. The firewood was well stocked, the property was beautiful with many fresh fungi to observe, and the little kitchen was perfect for making delicious meals. The fridge is quite small with no freezer, so if you want to bring fresh food for cooking, I recommend bringing a cooler. The shower is not far from the cabin, so it's easy to get a hot shower in and run back inside to the warm cabin. Make sure to bring your own bath towel. The bathroom is farther from the cabin, but I enjoyed the walk there, especially at night when I could look at the stars.
We didn't get to enjoy the outdoor space very much, seeing as we visited in winter, but we definitely want to come back in the summer to enjoy all that this little cabin and the Smith River area has to offer. If you're looking for a quaint place to stay while adventuring in the area, you've found the right place!

Large area to work with. Also, warm showers on the river have an absolutely gorgeous view of the river. However, it is outside and you can see the highway from the shower… meaning the highway can see you. There could be better paths and signage to follow, but once you get a gist of the area it’s very easy to find everything. The hosts are very accommodating. They had an employee drop of the firewood we purchased from the camp store. Also there was a full community kitchen that came in handy for things we forgot. We just washed them all and put them back when we were done.

Patti is the best! So responsive, kind and welcoming. The space is beautiful too, with big trees and the river near by. It was about 20 to get to the Newton B scenic Road. Don’t miss it!
Traveled with our dog and 21’ travel trailer. No issues with access. Do note there are skunks around at night; they keep mole and voles populations down and are a part of the community too- just be aware. Also saw a few curios big neighbor dogs when we walked our pup up along the service road by the park in the morning. No trouble though.

Patrick and Maya are so great! Check in was super smooth and they even upgraded us to a better RV cause of some technical difficulties. The campground was private, cute, and nicely maintained. If we come back around to the area we would definitely camp there again. Also, the hiking trails are well kept and they had Starlink for speedy WiFi.

About
Just north of Brookings, near the California border, Harris Beach State Park offers plenty of tent and RV sites plus a handful of yurts, all situated a short walk from one of the prettiest stretches of Southern Oregon’s coastline. This compact park is particularly popular with families, with a playground, hot showers, a few easy hiking trails, and lots of little tidepools when the tide is low. It's also a great spot for birding enthusiasts, and you can get great views of Goat Island, an offshore National Wildlife Refuge, from numerous points throughout the park.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Campsites, RV hookups, and yurts become available at 6am (Pacific time), six months in advance on the Oregon State Parks' online reservation system.
- Loop C sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis from November 1 through May 24. If you’re visiting on a weekend with good weather, come at sunrise to reserve your place.
- Last-minute spots occasionally open up at the campground due to cancellations. If a cancellation occurs less than 24 hours in advance, you won’t see the open spot in the online system, but you can book directly at check-in.
When to go
The park is open year-round, though some of the B loop and all of the D loop campsites close during winter. The best time of year is during the warmer summer months, notably July through late September. If you want to beat the crowds but still take advantage of pleasant weather, consider mid-week in September (after kids have gone back to school). The best time for whale-watching is in April through May or mid-December through January.
Know before you go
- The closest place to stock up on supplies is the town of Brookings, about a five-minute drive south from the park. Here you'll find a couple of good-sized supermarkets and plenty of restaurants.
- Campers are allowed only one car with their reservation. If you need to bring a second vehicle, be prepared to pay a small additional fee.
- Campfire bans are not uncommon during summer months, particularly when fire risk is high. Fuel and propane camping stoves are also sometimes restricted, depending on the severity of wildfire risk.

Paris Beach Campground was full when I was there as you would expect in August, but it's a great campground if you can reserve a spot or get in by chance. I have camp there before. The day use area is adjacent to the campsite and is open to the public. It's a great beach to walk to and the loop drive takes you right down to Just above the beach. It's always a great place to watch the sunset, or check out some of the trails in Harris Beach State Park that will alternatively take you through open beaches, Rocky tide pool zones, and spruce trees. It's a beautiful place.

Take a stroll out to the tide pools at low tide to hunt for critters in the rocks and keep your eyes peeled for the bobbing heads of seals out to sea.
The showers at this campground are wonderful (compared to your average campground) so go for it and indulge if you so decide. The sites that face the road have easier access to the cliff views but the inner sites tend to be a bit more shady.

Another beautiful gym created by Oregon! This place is truly Amazing! Breath taking views of the rugged coastline with the powerful sounds of giant waves crashing into large jagged rocks. This place is one reason why I miss Oregon.

Massive, popular yet pleasant campground with incredible proximity to the beach and wonderful views and shoreside trails. Family friendly, friendly staff, clean and quiet (for a place of its size). There are some really killer campsites here that stand head and shoulders above the rest in terms of privacy, setting, and proximity to ocean views. I hope to return soon and write down which ones struck my fancy.

Very well maintained. Gets a lot of day use, but quite peaceful at night. The tent sites are sort of segregated from RV sites, and have nice old school CCC-like masonry work.

If you don't like the noise of children on a playground, avoid the camp sites that surround the playground. It can get SUPER noisy! Spots with best ocean view are A10-A24 (even numbered sites). C1 also has a view. A1, A2, A4, A6 get lots of nice sun!

This campground can get busy with families on weekends so try and go during mid-week. Great hot showers with good water pressure and they are FREE! Also, each shower is its own little room so you don't have to share with anyone. Nice and private!
