I wanted two things during my trip in the cabin; peace and solitude. The cabin is as it seems - small, off the grid, minimal/manual amenities. Everything was fairly clean, but if you dont like spiders/bugs then you will have some surprises. Its basically glamping. Anyway, i didnt care about any of that - in fact its what i wanted. However, unlike what is portrayed in the pictures the cabin is actually in a neighborhood and not really what I would call secluded. This could be my fault for not looking into it more, but the feel isnt like it is in the posted pictures. Again, not the biggest deal. But it was the dogs. Oh the dogs. The neighborhood has like 15 dogs around it, and a small pack of them right next door. The dogs are friendly, but largish and bark at you if they dont know you. If any dog starts barking, the whole neighborhood suite goes off. And one (or two?) of them sometimes bark all night. I love dogs and have had them all my life, but because the fence perimeter of the cabin has loosely chained gates, the dogs regularly push themselves into the property, and this became annoying because they want food or take your seats and then dont listen if you want them to move. One even took one of my shoes which was eventually retrieved. I want to underline that none of this was the Host's fault: Sara was very helpful and responded promptly. But if you are planning to stay here and stick around the cabin instead of travel around then it isn't so peaceful.
