This South Coast beach town is known for its caravan camping, snorkelling, and seafood.
At the mouth of the Clyde River, Batemans Bay checks all the boxes for a beach break along the NSW South Coast. Get your fill of sun, sand, and sea views at the bay's many beaches, cruise or kayak around the Clyde River Estuary, and fill up on fresh-from-the-ocean oysters. Don't forget to pack your snorkel—the Batemans Bay Snorkelling Trail is legendary. West of town, drive your campervan over to Clyde River National Park to fish, kayak, and camp by the salt marshes and mangrove forests, or head north to Murramarang National Park, where some of the campgrounds have powered sites. Larger motorhomes and caravans might be better off checking into a beachside tourist park or holiday park, where facilities typically include a camp kitchen, swimming pool, and dump station. Or, escape the crowds and seek out a private Hipcamp along the riverside, on a rural farm, or along the coast.
