Butmaroo Station is situated in its own sheltered picturesque valley with Butmaroo Creek running through the entire property with Tallaganda National Park on the southern boundary. Butmaroo is perfect for guests who love to connect to nature or just need a place to relax and unwind. It is an ideal venue for family get togethers, groups of friends, or a couple that wants a very special place to connect.Butmaroo Station is a 3000 acre cattle and sheep farm which sits in a beautiful valley bounding the Tallaganda National Park to the south and straddling the Great Dividing Range to its east . The property was settled in the 1800's and your camp spot sits next to the original mountain hut and working complex of one of the orignal pioneering families, the Harrison's. You will have total privacy and space totally to yourselves in the grounds of the original mountain hut and working complex. While its a totally off grid space there is the convience of having the luxury of a flushing toilet and bore water at the campsite . Walk around the farm along the numerous tracks, enjoying the animals and fabulous bird life or simply cuddle up by the fire and enjoy a night under the stars. Or park up and go an explore the region with Canberra only 45 min away or visit the local wineries, galleries and antique shops. There are two low level concrete crossings that can be subject to flooding an in such an event your booking will be cancelled with full refund or the option to rebook. If you cannot change your booking due to travel plans please contact us and we can find another location on the farm for you that avoids the crossings.

Definitely will be back!
We had a wonderful couple of days in our caravan at this property. Loved the privacy of Harrison's Hut on Butmaroo Station. We had a beautiful view overlooking sheep and horses. Enjoyed wandering the farm.

Wonderful Farm Stay
This is a wonderful farm stay only 45 minutes from Canberra. An easy drive with about 10km of good dirt road that is fine for any vehicle. The area is flat and easy enough to drive through if you want. A well stocked fire pit was ready for us on arrival and there was plenty of wood to keep it going. A flush toilet is on site and a large outdoor table and chairs. Penny is very nice and was easy to communicate with and available at any time if needed. This is a wonderful place to stay if you just want to get away and enjoy some peaceful time with family or friends. There is some lovely rolling hills and fields to walk through. The sunsets were also beautiful. We will be back.

Peaceful campsite
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Penny and Peter’s camp site. The site was very private at the same time with beautiful open view. We have the piece of mind to let our dogs free leash in the huge fenced off area. We simply just soaked in the sun and listened the bird singing for hours, we watched stunning sunset and bright moonlight. Peter and Penny provided us more than sufficient firewood to keep us warm in the evening. We are also very appreciative that Penny offered us to swap dates when our originally booking run into some heavy rains. Instead we came 2 weeks later with perfect weather and experience. Thank you Penny and Peter. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and unwind getaway.
