The campsite is approximately 1000ft from the road but some traffic may be heard during peak hours. A Paved walking and cycling trail leads to boomba sports complex, the environmental center, and Lake Jessup in one direction and big tree park in the other. The trail is part of the cross seminole trail system.

Mount Dora is across the main street less than 5 minutes away. Our antique town is an amazing experience to explore with lots of history and complete with quaint shops and restaurants, boating and lots of things to do. Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm.
We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee.
Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on.
In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us.
Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property.
Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be.

This property is called relic ranch because we have actually found a ton of old relics.
the campground is under an ancient canopy of oaks. so youll always have shade. the center of the property is unique to say the least but the campground is nature at its finest.
there is a 2.6 mile nature trail across from the campground to explore.
also there is a boat ramp for fishing about 1/8 mile away. you are welcome to roam over most of the 80 acres. We have goats, cows and chickens as well. All super friendly.

The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

(Check the moonrise/moonset tables to see if there is a visible moon during your intended stay - it really is an incredible sight).
We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake.
The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening.
Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge.
You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music.

RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site.
Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle.
Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock.
Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road.
Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected.
If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock.
We also have citronella torches available for rent.
We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10.
Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible.
It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground.
We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so.
Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people.
Each site has its own fire pit.
Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews.
Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge.

We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths.
Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us.
Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property.
Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be.

This property is called relic ranch because we have actually found a ton of old relics.
the campground is under an ancient canopy of oaks. so youll always have shade. the center of the property is unique to say the least but the campground is nature at its finest.
there is a 2.6 mile nature trail across from the campground to explore.
also there is a boat ramp for fishing about 1/8 mile away. you are welcome to roam over most of the 80 acres. We have goats, cows and chickens as well. All super friendly.

The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

The site was exactly what we were looking for. A nice level spot that felt private and open space for our dog to run. The hosts were kind and helpful. Access to the bathroom and pool area is an amazing bonus when you’re camping. Wood was available for a fire. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

We had such a great time!! This camping spot is perfect! We were surrounded by beautiful scenery! The owner was incredibly responsive and helpful! The location is walking distance to a beautiful hiking path and fishing spot. We also did the free Nature drive, which is close by, and I highly recommend it! I would definitely book this spot again!!

We loved staying at this farm! We purchased treats to feed the cows/donkeys and our 2 year old thought this was the greatest! We also purchased duck eggs and they were so good.
They do have untraditional water/electric hook-ups, but we had no trouble connecting.

It was a very convenient location. Surprisingly quiet, we felt very safe. Across the street we were able to access the Cross Seminole Trail with endless recreation trails and parks! Perfect for us and our pup. But perhaps the best thing was the fantastic outdoor shower! The BEST shower since we hit the road 12 days ago!

We had a great stay at Penny Lane! Mark and his wife were welcoming and made sure we had everything (50 to 30 converter). Their land is nestled amongst pet horses, chickens and moss covered oaks. I was peaceful yet minutes from Mount Dora and several hiking trailheads.

The campground area was perfect for us, very spacious and private with a good amount of distance between sites, plus the giant trees are absolutely gorgeous. Very peaceful at night after the activity calms Awesome view of the stars. Fire pit and charcoal grill. Firewood available for a small fee. Chairs for sitting and talking or quietly relaxing. During the day you can relax and read or interact with the goats, the donkey, the chickens and best of all the little pig. Eggs and Goat milk soap of all different scents to choose from. Eggs also for a small fee for cooking. Best of all my little dog was free off leash. You must keep them under control though. No chasing the other animals. Their dog and mine got along pretty good after they got to know each other. It was like camping out on a little farm. Canopys of Old Oak trees, large enough to go off to the less active areas or closer to the animals and friendly environment. The hosts are so wonderful. One of the best HipCamp's I've stayed at. We loved it!!!

Less than a half-hour drive from downtown Orlando, Wekiwa Springs State Park is a lush pocket of wilderness and the perfect antidote to Florida’s amusement parks. Escape to the lush riverbanks and wooded trails and let nature entertain you instead. Cool off with a swim at the star attraction—Wekiwa Springs—then set out to explore more than 40 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. The oak tree-fringed shores and wildlife of Rock Springs Run and the Wekiva River are best admired by kayak or canoe, while campers can choose between the busy family campground or four remote primitive camps
Notable campgrounds
- Best for intrepid paddlers: Big Buck Camp has primitive tent sites along Rock Springs Run and is only accessible by water.
- Best for backcountry explorers: Cozy Camp has hike-in or ride-in primitive camping with space for up to 10 people and horses.
- Best for RV campers: Family Campground has 60 spacious sites, all with an electric hookup, picnic table, and fire ring. Sewer hookups are also available.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- You can reserve one of 60 campsites or primitive camps via the Florida State Parks Reservation website.
- Wekiwa Springs campsite reservations can be made 11 months in advance for Florida residents, or 10 months in advance for non-residents.
- Campsites can book up fast, so plan your booking at least six months in advance. It’s not uncommon for summer and holiday weekends to be booked as soon as they become available.
When to go
Wekiwa Springs State Park draws visitors year-round, but peak season runs from May through September. During this period, the park often reaches capacity, and late arrivals will be turned away—plan to arrive as close to opening time as possible to avoid disappointment. Visiting out of season means fewer crowds, and with mild winter temperatures, outdoor activities can be enjoyed through all four seasons.
Know before you go
- Wekiwa Springs State Park is north of downtown Orlando, about a 25-minute drive away. Parking lots are set by the two trailheads.
- There are day-use fees for all Florida State Parks, and campsite booking fees also apply.
- Facilities at Florida Caverns include a restaurant and concession stand, restrooms, a playground, and picnic areas with grills. Bikes, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards can be rented at the park on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Black bears are present at Wekiwa Springs State Park, so keep food and garbage secure in camping and day-use areas, and follow the park’s bear safety guidelines.
- There are accessible restrooms, campsites, and picnic areas at Wekiwa Springs. The springs also have a ramp and chair lift to enter the swimming area.

If you're in to a little bit of a challenge, then primitive camping via canoe or kayak is definitely worth the trip! Wekiwa Springs is beautiful and the canoe trip to Otter Camp (the other is Big Buck Camp), while visually pleasing, was rather difficult with three people, one canoe (they told us there would be plenty of room!), all your camping gear and paddling upriver from WITHIN Wekiwa Springs. Do yourself a favor (depending on group size) and give yourself room....get the extra canoe! While difficult getting TO the site, coming back is a breeze. We passed so much wildlife, camped on the bank of the river, and star-gazed miles away from civilization and regretted only staying one night. This place is a must!

i am not the " reviewer " type but it is beautiful place and campground , did the longer trail i took about 7 hrs , but i really take my time with trails , so i suppose it s a 5 hrs trail at most /// beautiful campground , beautiful main trail , was able to start train from campground .... thank you Wekika Springs !!

Don't leave the masks and fins at home for this trip! Being located so close to Orlando this park makes for a perfect escape from the busier city life to a peaceful oasis. Grab a canoe or kayak and hit the Wekiva River. Plenty of gators await downstream.
