Hanscombe Point Plantation is a 300 acre working farm that has been in the Legare family for 9 generations. We raise beef cows, heritage breeds of pigs, laying hens, and water buffalo.  Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year. Our accommodations include a vintage camper, primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and an RV area on our farm. We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. Use our property as your base of operation as you have fun at the beach or tour the historic city, or just stay for a quiet get away in the woods. There is also a lot of wildlife such as: wild turkeys, woodstorks, raccoons, and alligators.  Fishing and crabbing are available on the salt water creek next to the campsite as well. We look forward to hosting you!

I love this campsite! One of the highlights of my visit was the unexpected encounter with two friendly donkeys that roam the area.

Option of tree line or closer to the water campsites. Very large open meadow. Extremely peaceful.

Hanscombe delight
Hanscombe plantation was a great place to stay Primitive site next to a water bayou Lots of trees to keep it shady in the heat I spent a nice 3 days there It’s about a half hour outside Charleston But an easy ride in There were owls hooting egrets flying no bugs and a lovely view of the water This was late September I would go back I felt very safe Slept with my van doors open

Lovely farm retreat
We had such a great stay at Laura’s farm. The tent site was nestled on the trees next to the saltwater inlet and marsh that runs through their land, with lots of birds to listen to and watch. The campsite was clean and level, and we got to wake up to cows quietly roaming the field adjacent to the camp area. We were grateful to have such a quiet place to return to in the evenings during our visit. Would 100% revisit.

Great Spot!
Great camping spot! About 20 minute away from town, very simple and straight forward! Beautiful spots right by the water. Would for sure go back!

Great base camp for beach fishing.
The is was a great site to camp. The creek was behind me and it was secluded enough for privacy. There was also fire wood available to purchase. We went to Folly beach to fish which was about 25 minutes away. I would recommend this place again.
