Romantic
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is romantic.
50-some years ago, the legendary Grampy David made his way to The Red Rock Rabbit Ranch. There he resides: a good-hearted curmudgeon, a handyman, a grumpy, Ywengling-drinking philosopher, the wittiest mason, carpenter, roofer, etc. you'll ever meet.
I'm his grandson, a documentary filmmaker helping to make ends meet here by sharing this glorious space with Hip Campers.
50 acres of serene woods, fields, a pond, and Mine Run Creek. This is a place to relax, to get in touch with nature and reconnect with the people you love. Spring Mount Adventures is nearby. The Perkiomen Creek Trail is only a mile away. Crawfish, sycamore trees, foxes, pileated woodpeckers, and more!
Caring for the land: please do not collect your own firewood on the land. That wood is decomposing and contributing to the health of the forest, providing numerous habitats for bugs.
Note on dogs: we run a dog-sitting business, so there may be a pack (2-5) of dogs that come through the woods with us on walks. All dogs we sit are friendly towards humans.
Food recs: Raw Replenish in downtown Schwenksville has healthy smoothies and salads. Thai Spice is ten minutes away. Trouble's End brewing is 15 minutes away in Collegeville, with delicious beer and a Spicy Chicken sandwich.
Camping at Sacchara offers a secluded and serene experience by a creek, with many campers appreciating the maintained sites and natural beauty of the area. While the firepit and stream are highlights, some guests noted that the walk from the parking area can be a bit of a hike, especially with gear. The lack of a proper toilet facility was mentioned, but many were prepared by bringing their own solutions. Overall, the site is praised for its peacefulness and accommodating hosts, making it a welcoming spot for a quick escape from city life.
This was my second trip there. I had a good time. I enjoy the walk back to the site, its good exercise. Nice and peaceful, just the sound of the creek mostly. Had a little rain, no big deal if your prepared for it. Its fairly close to where i live, so its perfect for a quick getaway. I’ll be going back
Nice secluded site by the creek. Nice firepit, also nice flat spot for my tent. Had a good trip over all. Only issue i had was the wind, Had to be real careful with the fire. I plan on going back for a full weekend soon.
Location was very accessible and easy walk to/from cars. Buckets for water and wheelbarrows for items made set up, fire care, and pack up easy and efficient.
I absolutely loved my stay at Sacchara! Mike was an awesome host who helped out with firewood whenever needed. The property is beautiful and right on the creek. This camp spot was furthest from the parking spot but was a pleasant and short walk. It took no time at all to pack in or pack out.
Only feedback would be the toilet situation, I bring my own so it’s no big deal but I know for others it could be a tougher situation. Overall I had a wonderful and welcomed time and I would definitely come back.
Had a great time with my wife and dog!! Camp site was clean and well maintained. Thank you Martin for sharing you beautiful land with us!! Will visit again sometime!!
