Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next French Creek State Park adventure.
Twin lakes and highland hikes await adventurers in this wooded wilderness.
Outdoor activities at French Creek State Park span all terrains and temperatures. Summer visitors can head lakeside to swim, cruise, and fish for smallmouth bass—Scotts Run Lake still holds the state record—while winter wanderers can brave the cold to sled or cross-country ski. Hit the trail on foot, by bike, or on horseback and explore more than 35 miles of forested trails, or challenge your group to a game of disc golf. Campers have almost as many options at the French Creek Park Campground with a choice of electric and full hookups, cabins, cottages, yurts, and group campgrounds.
French Creek State Park is open year-round, whether you’re heading to the lake in the summer months or sledding down the hillsides in winter. Trails can get busy through summer, but forest hikes are most magical in fall against a backdrop of colorful foliage. The main campground is open from March through the first weekend in January, while cabins and cottages can be booked throughout the year.
