Grandpa had a dream of building cabins for his granddaughters. Ruby is the first grandchild and this cabin was built for her. Jay and Tamara (Ruby’s grandparents) bought this acreage in 1998 and are excited to share their special place with other people who love the outdoors while being with family and friends. This is a rustic, off the grid, cabin experience that you will never forget. Almost 200 acres of forest are available to explore. Winter, our second granddaughter is expecting grandpa to get her cabin finished soon. Cabin with loft can sleep 6. Think of it as camping with walls and extras thrown in. Air beds provided, bring your own sleeping bags. Outhouse provided. Additional tents and people are allowed for an additional 15.00 per tent/2 people. Additional RV’s are allowed for 15.00 per RV. Area for tents and RV’s is large grassy wooded area. Great for large gatherings of friends or family who enjoy camping. Fire pit and bar-b-que provided, pavilion for shelter at fire pit area is in the process of construction. Mountain bike/hiking trails run throughout property as well as National forest trails within a few miles. North Fork River swimming 10 minutes away. Golf course across Westoak Rd. Sit on the porch and enjoy the solitude only minutes from Oakridge. Grocery store, etc... all available in Oakridge. Beautiful, safe and secluded. Elk, deer, and other forest critters live here too. Ruby’s Cabin

This is our second time staying here and we love every minute of it. It’s such a special cabin and everything is so thoughtful. You really don’t need to think of much because Jay and Tamara have it all figured out for you. Bring extra blankets, but other than that you are set. I can’t recommend this place enough!

This was our second year staying here and it was a wonderful experience. We had everything we needed. We wouldn't change a thing. Always keep your food stored properly though because we had a visit from two young Shepard mix dogs and they are very clever lol

Lovely Birthday trip

My family and 2 dogs loved Jay's cabin and awesome property! Jay was so nice and he pointed us to several local swimming holes and made sure we had all that we needed. The camping kitchen is very well stocked, the outdoor shower is amazing and the outhouse is literally the nicest I have seen. We had a herd of Elk visit us both nights we were there which was so cool. Couldn't have a campfire but Jay set us up a propane fire pit so we still had the campfire ambiance. We will definitely book again!

Great for adventure family

We loved our time at Ruby's cabin, and hope to return some day when there's no fires in the area. The outdoor kitchen has a great set up as are all of the lounging places. It was a great place to explore the mountain biking trails in the area.

The most wonderful cabin of all!

Ruby's Cabin may well be the best cabin we've ever stayed in, and we've been cabin camping for 15 years or so. The cabin itself is lovely. The daybeds are comfortable. Under some cedars near the cabin, you'll find hammocks that are perfect for napping. The outdoor kitchen is a joy to cook in, and Jay has it stocked with just about anything you might want: a two-burner camp stove, a gas grill (with a side burner), skillets, a colander, a big pot for cooking pasta, sheet pans, a pie plate, decent knives, cutting boards, tea bags, salt, some basic spices, hot sauce, kitchen towels, hot pads, dish soap, big jugs of water, and so much more. You really don't need to bring anything except your food. Oh, and by some kind of camping magic, Jay provides running water in the camp kitchen and at the outhouse. (The outhouse is lovely, and free of unpleasant odors.) The best part of our visit happened when we were sitting at the little pavilion where the firepits are. A herd of elk walked through the field just across from the pavilion. They were never all in the field at the same time - when the first ones arrived, we were thrilled to see maybe a dozen, then more elk came, and more, and some moved on through so we didn't see them any more. I would be shocked if there weren't 60 or more.

Ruby’s Cabin

I can’t say enough great things about this cabin. My partner and I enjoyed a magical 3 nights. I am already booking again for this summer so I can bring kids with. You will never be bored here. Host are amazing and kind.
