Grandpa had a dream of building cabins for his granddaughters. Ruby is the first grandchild and this cabin was built for her. Jay and Tamara (Ruby’s grandparents) bought this acreage in 1998 and are excited to share their special place with other people who love the outdoors while being with family and friends. This is a rustic, off the grid, cabin experience that you will never forget. Almost 200 acres of forest are available to explore. Winter, our second granddaughter is expecting grandpa to get her cabin finished soon. Cabin with loft can sleep 6. Think of it as camping with walls and extras thrown in. Air beds provided, bring your own sleeping bags. Outhouse provided. Additional tents and people are allowed for an additional 15.00 per tent/2 people. Additional RV’s are allowed for 15.00 per RV. Area for tents and RV’s is large grassy wooded area. Great for large gatherings of friends or family who enjoy camping. Fire pit and bar-b-que provided, pavilion for shelter at fire pit area is in the process of construction. Mountain bike/hiking trails run throughout property as well as National forest trails within a few miles. North Fork River swimming 10 minutes away. Golf course across Westoak Rd. Sit on the porch and enjoy the solitude only minutes from Oakridge. Grocery store, etc... all available in Oakridge. Beautiful, safe and secluded. Elk, deer, and other forest critters live here too. Ruby’s Cabin

If you’re looking for a secluded cabin nestled in the woods, surrounded by hiking and biking trails, and close to town for any of your needs, then Ruby’s Cabin is the perfect place. Jay is very friendly, will answer any questions, and provides anything you would need at the cabin. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

We LOVED staying at Ruby's cabin! The host, Jay, was incredibly nice and welcoming. The cabin was adorable and the outdoor kitchen was well-stocked. Our dogs had the time of their lives! We will be back for sure. We didn't want to leave!!!

Ruby's Cabin Relaxation!

Amazing as always! This time a group of teachers spent a long weekend relaxing by the fire, reading in the hammocks and making incredible food on the grill! All the attention to detail is so appreciated. There is plenty of propane for all the lamps and grills, the solar lights are a beautiful treat and there are enough games and toys for all to enjoy! We spent two nights and could have stayed a week or two.

One word - AMAZING

I had hoped this place was as magical as it appeared and in the reviews and it actually exceeded my expectations. While this is "rough" for many it is the most comfortable and thoughtful rustic cabin I've ever stayed in. The hosts do not skimp on anything from the kitchen supplies to the outhouse to the lower deck where there are lots of games and chairs and a firepit for on-season fires. I do not want to oversell it for those who would rather not rough it - there is no power, no hot shower and no cell service on site (but there is down the road) - this is where you can safely and comfortably get away but only if you WANT to unplug. I will definitely be back. Thank you Jay!

Gorgeous, dog and kid-friendly

This may be the coolest place I’ve ever stayed in. The location is private and serene and there is so much room to explore. The camp has everything you need (and more) and I’d rather use that outhouse than my own bathroom. I’m already daydreaming about coming back in the winter to explore the area by skis. The cabin (and all structures on the property) are so beautiful that I spent a great deal of time just admiring the build. Jay is clearly a very talented craftsman and I’m so glad I got to experience a small piece of what is obviously a large talent. Any Hipcamper will know instantly that they’ve found something special. We’ll certainly be back. Also, soooo kid-friendly. My toddler couldn’t control her delight.
