The Heart Center sits on 30 acres of beautiful forest land and it is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. The place is an old school site that was literally left to be buried by the forest, until I came along and decided to fix it up, and create a holistic sanctuary for people wishing to get away from it all. A place where one can heal, contemplate, re-energize, and relax in a quiet and pristine environment.
Feel secluded enough to experience your own inner stillness; and, yet, connected enough to enjoy many beautiful area attractions that are just minutes away such as: Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Fontana Dam and the Appalachian Trail, 20 Mile Ranger Station, Cherohala Skyway, and Santeetlah Lake!
The Heart Center is about love, unity, harmony, joy and re-connecting with ourselves, others, and Mother Nature. At the Heart Center, we take special interest in providing our guests with a uniquely peaceful, positive, comfortable, and relaxing experience!
Whether you are laying on a hammock, walking the labyrinth, or just sitting on the deck taking in the sights and sounds, we want you to enjoy.
The Heart Center offers a serene and peaceful camping experience with ample privacy and beautiful natural surroundings. Guests consistently praise Liz, the host, for her warm hospitality and attention to detail, ensuring a comfortable stay for everyone. While the campsite is generally well-received, some visitors note the remoteness which might affect cellphone connectivity, but they appreciate the available Wi-Fi in communal areas. Overall, the Heart Center is celebrated as a welcoming retreat with clean facilities, engaging communal spaces, and a strong sense of community.
I loved my stay in the yurt, which was very clean and inviting. The bathroom/shower in the gym was clean and perfect for my needs. I enjoyed shooting some basketball and trying to balance on the slack line. Liz was very attentive host and hospitable in every way. I do wish I had more time to explore the offerings of the retreat. It was a beautiful and peaceful area also.
Unique historic property with conveniences such as bathrooms and showers. Beautiful environment with numerous hiking opportunities nearby. Liz has extensive knowledge of the area and she’s available and willing to provide any info needed.
Lovely property! Liz is wonderful & extremely helpful. The grounds are very well maintained, and incredibly quiet. Great for a weekend getaway. Liz made coffee and tea in the morning, and the restrooms up at the gym are very clean. We did a great easy hike in the general area. Would certainly recommend!
Our family stayed at Yurt #9 and really enjoyed our time. The yurt was clean and comfortable, and the outside areas surrounding the yurt was beautiful and peaceful. Having access to our own fire pit and picnic table was great. We didn't use the showers while there, but the half bathroom was super clean and nicer than you would expect. It was also really helpful to have access to their cafeteria where we could wash our dishes.
The hosts were very accommodating and super nice! We were a little concerned about the low overnight temps (we had our baby with us) so Liz brought us a space heater to use in the yurt. They were so sweet and welcoming.
We will definitely be back soon!
