Everything about my home is designed to bring outdoor enthusiasts together. From our coffee room that gets your day started with the sound of a nearby babbling creek to our brand new theater room downstairs and its floating couch and hammock spot.
I am an older Canadian mother of a 12 year old boy, and even though I live in Montreal now, I grew up on the west coast, with trees, nature and mountains all around. So going to the Adirondacks and staying in a nature-based place with a kind human was really about soaking up what I miss about the west coast. This is a long preface to say: Dave is great, and his place is AMAZING; he crafted the design of the rooms himself. (Also, he was super cool with my kid' he totally treated him like a little human and talked about stuff that they had in common: snowboarding, etc. Dave is an amazing host, and everyone that stayed at Dave's place was fantastic ... A German couple post-retirement age were there there; they needed space. Fine. Then another mother was there, also originally international, and we just gabbed about being moms. Other guests were equally amazing. I can't recommend the Llama House enough. We'll be back and Dave and my new mom-friend will always be welcomed at our house in Montreal:)
Stayed for one night in May after hiking Mt Marcy. Dave the host was there to meet us with the dog Wilson. Place is very fitting for some travelers wanting to spend the night, and I can see it being very fit for those who would want to spend 2-3 days in the Daks.
It was an awesome house I had my bunk bed it was comfy, clean bathrooms would definitely recommend
