I’ve stayed in many airbnb’s for the past few years and Karen & Dale have stood out the most. They were welcoming and so kind to us, even showing us some of the art pieces that Dale has been working on (they were absolutely gorgeous and if they open a store we’ll be first in line). The cabin itself had such a homey and cozy vibe it was hard to get out of bed. But when we did it was so worth it. On our last morning we woke up to watch the sunrise over Fisher’s Peak and it was breathtaking. This is definitely a cabin I recommend to anyone who’s looking.

Welcome Home
Meeting Karen and Dave was like meeting my Aunt and Uncle for the weekend. Karen offered me bug spray and kindly cared for my dog, who was anxious from the long day of travels. She offered us watermelon on our way out and banana bread as a welcoming gift. I opened the fridge and realized that they had provided the supplies I forgot, including breakfast for the first morning. Their property is ever evolving, carrying on the legacy of the artists who originally crafted with a wide range of color and mediums. Karen told me that the person who had left before me remarked on the quietness of the cabin. Indeed, the space was serene. Despite being near Karen and Dave's home, their were intentional to respect the peace of me as a guest. I cannot wait to come back, to sit on the new deck they are building and watch the sunrise over Fisher Peak once again.

Peaceful retreat with views
My 83 year old Mom and I enjoyed our 3-night mini vacation to Fishers Peak Retreat. Cabin was nicely stocked with essentials and the interior was clean and quaint. Enjoyed the wood burning stove every night. Loved the star filled skies. The location is somewhat remote but with directions from host, I had no issues finding it. We took a daily walk on the road which was peaceful and void of traffic. And it is only 20 minutes away from the town of Trinidad. Dogs are allowed for a very small fee, and my senior dog did just fine. I would recommend Fishers Peak Retreat for a peaceful getaway.
