A Charming and Beautiful Experience
Such a beautiful and private retreat. Views are spectacular. The cabin is sturdy and dry. All off- grid, so one needs to bring their own gear. Bring your own bed and heat. There is a gas grill and picnic table. The camp is set up with multiple cabins and sites throughout the mountain; however, all private and distant from each other. I will definitely return. Rick, the host was most hospitable and helpful. He lives in Denver but drove out to meet me at the camp. With a snowstorm, he came through and plowed the roads to ensure that I was safe. A huge thank you to Rick!! Great location near convenience, restaurants, history, and outdoor activities! Well done!

you should really have 4x4 to get to the site there isn't any light in the cabin, if you are ready for that it could be a fun get away! there is also corn hole and a bbq super fun! but i would suggest bringing your own power source and a heater because they don't allow fires.

Lovely little site
Great value for money! I stayed two nights, the noise from the highway turns into white noise pretty quickly once you arrive. The road is also very manageable as I drove a stock crosstrek.

Blown away by this stay!!

I love this place. Everything about camping here was perfect. We even had 5 elk walk right up to our door. The host was responsive and helpful and extremely accommodating to our long stay. We had the best time as they were kind enough to upgrade our stay. My son and puppy were able to run up and down the mountain freely without worrying and were able TJ enjoy nature safely. It was fun to explore the site and the A frames were perfect. This is primitive camping, but if you come prepared you will feel at home. I want to come back and stay here every year. We stayed almost two weeks total and everyone in Idaho Springs, Dumont, and surrounding towns were so kind and friendly. I HIGHLY recommend staying here if it’s one night, two or a month! Lovely spot. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Globe
Our Honda Accord made it about halfway up before the loose gravel and steepness got to us. 4WD would be ideal, but if you’re comfortable with your vehicle and have some skill, you can make it up to the first 3-4 lots. We ended up staying in the Globe for 3 nights and it was fantastic! Only downside is hearing I-70 but other than that it was really awesome. The bed in the globe is comfy and linens are provided although I’d recommend dressing appropriately for the nighttime temps. Rick was super helpful and timely in his responses, and we will stay here again if able.
