Windy Hollow Farm is an off-the-grid farmstead located on the Mendocino Coast in California. We are 3 generations of family tending 20 acres of coastal prairie. Bryce, Ben, and Jennifer will be around as your hosts. Staying on the farm for a weekend, or a week, offers a glimpse into farmstead living. We have two small hand-built sleeping cabins available for guests. The cabins are cozy and rustic with woodstoves, composting toilets, and a shared outdoor shower. A separate kitchen cabin is available for cooking simple meals. Visitors have access to the gardens, greenhouse, and trails.Windy Hollow Farm is an off-grid educational farmstead. Bryce, Ben, and Jennifer will all be around as your hosts.  Our farmstay cabins are hand-built with simple amenities. There is an outdoor composting toilet, and an enclosed outdoor shower with hot water is located a short walk from the cabins, near the main farm house. The kitchen cabin is close by and equipped with a cookstove, mini-refrigerator, and pots/dishes/utensils. The yellow sleeping cabin has a woodstove and firewood is provided. There is a queen-sized bed downstairs and a full-size folding futon in the sleeping loft. Linens and towels are provided. There is a second camping cabin, the Red Cabin, which is situated near the Yellow Cabin. It is only booked along with the yellow cabin (see Windy Hollow Farm Camping Cabin listing); you won't have neighbors in the red cabin if you aren't booking it. Families with small children should note that the cabins are next to a small pond. The cabin is cozy and best suited for individuals, couples or families with small children. Groups of 3+ adults (depending on sleeping arrangements), or families with older children, might want to consider reserving both sleeping cabins. Parking is approximately 300' from the cabins; a marked trail leads directly to the cabins and a wagon is available for schlepping stuff.  FYI - some folks have shared photos or mentioned the cob pizza oven down by the greenhouse/fire pit. Please note that we only use the pizza oven for events/workshops and it's not available for use by cabin guests.

Group trip
The Yellow Cabin was a fantastic spot to stay in, exactly what I was looking for! Although it had all the delightful trappings of a remote cabin stay, very quiet, firewood furnace, cozy loft & cabin design, etc, it still had all the conveniences I could ask for, running water, electricity, and close to town. I highly recommend for anyone, I hope to come again sometime in the future!

Cozy Off Season Bungalow
Stayed in the yellow cabin with my two best friends. Loved the entire experience. Given it was the off season a lot of places were closed so we had fun cooking in the cooking cabin. Loved the little hike to the shower and keeping the place warm with the wood stove. Very cozy, perfect and quiet. Also, loved the little sky light in the upper bed at night, could see the stars!

The cabin was perfect! The bed was super comfy and the fire was cozy. The windows look out to trees and birds you can hear while in bed, but still feels private and secluded. Far back from the road so no cars or other sounds heard. Kitchen was very usable, with two burners and plenty of pots/pans/dishes. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay
The location in Point Arena is excellent! So many beautiful seaside hiking trails! Very clean. Had a nice kitchen area for cooking. Cabin was cute and cozy. You'll need to walk about 300 feet over some bumpy ground to get to your cabin so be sure to get there before dark.
