Yucca Dome near Death Valley
Loving Life at Domeworld
We stayed in the Yucca dome for two nights and it was amazing! Views are stunning in every direction. The night skies are dark and full of stars. The shower dome with almost immediate hot water was a huge plus. And having access to the big communal kitchen was nice. The dome itself was cozy and due to the earth bag walls it stayed warm through the chilly nights. A small propane heater was provided if we got too cold. The bed was comfortable albeit a bit tight for two adults to sleep on. If we were taller it would have been a bit more challenging to sleep on the bed.
Nicolette is a wonderful person and a fantastic host. She gave us a thorough tour of the Mojave Center when we arrived and if you are at all interested in alternative building methods like earth bag or straw bale, she's a wealth of knowledge. Also Nicolette recommended some great local places to grab food, drinks and a natural hot spring. Shout out to dome cat Lima! A model cat for domeworld. We will definitely stay again!

Potosi Dome Near Death Valley!
so glad i finally got to stay in one of the domes at the mojave center! we really enjoyed our time. our dome was super cozy with amazing linens, the kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware/cookware, and the shower dome was just lovely! nicolette was eager to share natural building tips and she gave us some great recommendations for food and activities in the area!

I loved the site. It was a great place to stay at. The compost toilet was a new experience but I quickly got used to it.

Coolest Hipcamp out there!
This dome was the coolest Hipcamp experience I have found so far. My boyfriend and I wanted to cross Death Valley off our list of national parks and decided this was a great way to end our night. Nicolette was so kind and gave us a tour of the place when we got there. It was such a neat experience and we felt like we learned more about sustainable desert living. We definitely will want to return at some point :)

Potosi Dome Near Death Valley!
Stargazing in the desert
This is a review of the pink dome as the Potosi dome we reserved was unavailable at the time we traveled.
This is a truly special place and a very unique stay. The domes are snug but plenty warm (it got below freezing one night but we were not cold). Our host, Nicolette, was super responsive, even to my silly city slicker questions.
The one downside I would mention is that the entire place is off-grid, and if the power goes out at, say, 8:30 pm at night (we were only using one light and charging one phone) you won't have electricity until a fair bit after sunrise the next day. Since the stove has an electrical starter and the shower also uses electricity, this was a bit of a bummer. I'd definitely stay here again, after the hosts install a larger solar array or a backup generator. :)
