Desert Calm Glamping
Private Camping
Great private campsite. Lots of peace and quiet except the occasional atv riders/ dirt bike riders cruising by. There are 2 very large yurts, one for sleeping and the other has a wash station and bagged toilet. Everything is pack-in and pack-out.
Very thoughtful setup and amenities. There is a very deep, large fire-pit. A little hard trying to cook in it because it was a little hard to reach down, but manageable. Picnic table and 2 comfortable lounge chairs are provided at the site.
We heard wild coyotes at night but saw no wildlife otherwise during the day. The night sky is spectacular! No bugs for us this trip bc it was cold (35low,50high)
The only negative thing is the drive into this remote spot. You need an awd with high clearance. We drove an awd honda pilot and still ran into issues in certain spots. The drive from where the pave road ends is 8 miles in. 5 miles are pretty flat and just a straight forward simple, dirt road. The next 3 miles is a very hilly and rocky road that requires high clearance if you donât want to scrape or break anything on the underside of your car. However, the difficulty getting there lends to its privacy, which was nice when we finally got there. Make sure to bring everything with you!
There is a very weak signal, if you need to use your phone for emergency. I have verizon. No streaming otherwise.
Lots of room for our pups to explore, just make sure they donât run into the cactus plants.
