Rainbow Point Campground

One of the only campgrounds in the area with a boat ramp, you can expect Rainbow Point Campground at Boise National Forest to be popping with activity on a sunny summer day. Kayaking, fishing, and swimming are common activities on the sprawling Lake Cascade, and whitewater rafters can visit Kelly’s Whitewater Park to rent vessels for thrill-seeking on the lake. Pets are welcome on this collection of mixed tent/RV sites, of which only a few have shoreline access (first-come, first-served). Be aware that water is only available until October 1, and the sites are accessible by gravel roads. On days when your body aches from all those water sports, there are scenic drives for days in the area and ample hot springs and thermal spas in town to soothe your muscles.
