Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Ponderosa State Park adventure.
Discover Ponderosa State Park's scenic landscapes and diverse activities.
At Ponderosa State Park, what's near the land is just about as awesome as what's here. Dip in some hot springs, take a sleigh ride, or golf in neighboring areas; then head over to the campgrounds, where wildlife watching, hiking, and mountain biking will be sure to please. Anglers will love casting a line for a hearty lunch, and volleyball games will force you to keep up your competitive streak. If you're around near the end of May, make sure not to miss International Migratory Bird Day, where the park hosts bird walks, Junior Ranger programs, and presentations about how to build a nest. It may sound a little geeky, but there's nothing wrong with nerding out while you're outdoors—we promise we won't judge. In fact, we'll probably join you in the fun!
The best time to visit Ponderosa State Park is during the summer for warm weather and full access to all activities. Winter offers a snowy wonderland for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, though some services may be limited.
