Toby Mill Cabin

1 site · Lodging200 acres · Loomis, WA
We’ve had this property in my family for over 30 years and it is been a potato farm, a cattle ranch, and a Lumber-mill site. We built our cabin from scratch from 47 tamarack large trees on our property. This is a very rustic and remote log cabin situated on 120 acres that is adjacent to DNR state land. It is primarily forested and teaming with wildlife. The cabin is about 4000 feet in elevation on Lemonasky Mountain just 1 mile below and an historical fire look-out. It is perched on top of a beautiful large meadow with a 50 mile view that has wonderful sunrises and sunsets.

Gratitude Fields, Wildo's Mudhut

2 sites · Lodging10 acres · Twisp, WA
The Methow Valley is a beautiful wild river valley on the east side of the North Cascades mountain range. We have been homesteading on Libby Creek for 30+ years. We built an Earthship home and have been growing much of our own food for all these years. We are seniors now but want to remain on our land and have decided to open it up to campers from mid-may through mid-october. Our property is only 1 mile off the valley floor (hwy), creek frontage, quiet, private and lovely. If you are looking for an experience of alternative homesteading lifestyle with friendly open hearted seniors who love to share their story and experiences, come stay with us for a couple nights or ........ Their is wonderful hiking, biking, paddling, fishing, hunting and just plain connections with nature available here. We look forward to knowing you.

The Bunch Barn

2 sites · Lodging69 acres · Wauconda, WA
The homestead is situated at 3800-4000 feet in elevation in the midst of the Okanogan Highlands. The historic Bunch Barn, completed in 1928, used in the 40s for loose hay in the loft and livestock on the ground floor is a central feature of the homestead. The land was ideal for settlers of the time due to abundant spring water and fertile soils. Now a guest ranch with some cattle occasionally grazing and our herd of Icelandic horses, an ideal place to enjoy the rolling beauty of the Highlands, teeming with many varieties of birds.

We acquired the 22+ acre property to develop a nursery for Chinese medicinal plants.   Learn more about this land: We are less than five miles from the highway between Omak and Tonasket.  The county-maintained road up to the 22 acre property runs through a beautiful canyon (McLaughlin Canyon).  Deer, eagles, coyotes, and more wildlife (there are rattlesnakes in the area as well).  Wide views all around - to the West are the Cascades.  Lots of space to hike, and climbing opportunities as well.  We are developing gardens and a nursery for Chinese medicinal plants, starting this year (2018).  Your host can introduce you to Chinese herbal medicine.  We have a nice dog.
