Dogs on a leash allowed ENCHANTED ROCK STATE NATURAL AREA (71 mi) is open by reservation only for day use hiking on weekends and holidays. Come meet our goats, longhorns, donkeys, bison and more (from a distance)!The camping/parking area is located in a large field off of the famous and beautiful Old Highway 9 (Old San Antonio Road), an historic Native American Trading Trail dating back over a thousand years. The entrance is just a short drive south of the Bankersmith Saloon on the right hand side. Look for the Grapetown Vineyard sign and head on up the asphalt road. This Hill Country town is a prime stop for RV campers thanks to wine country vineyards, downtown German eateries, and easy access to Austin. Fredericksburg RV parks and private RV campsites are likely to offer full hookups (electric, sewer, and water hookups are especially helpful in the heat of summer), picnic tables, and maybe even laundry.
