Camping near Spearfish

Sitting in the Black Hills, Spearfish boasts a bounty of wildlife, scenic campsites, and local events open year-round. Head into Black Hills National Forest, known as the “Island of the Plains,” to see rock formations, open grasslands, canyons, and waterways. Hundreds of miles of biking and hiking trails surround tent campsites, while nearby RV parks come with dump stations, restrooms, and firepits. Travel south to Mount Rushmore or Wind Cave National Park, full of vast prairies and grasslands above a complex cave system. Badlands National Park, a rugged world of geologic deposits and desert populated by bison, bighorn sheep, and prairie dogs, is also close by.
