Buffalo Jump RV Site

1 site · RV3 acres · Cody, WY
We are located just 50 miles from Yellowstone park! Please note, our property is not suitable for long-term rentals. In 2004 we purchased the acreage and soon discovered that it is located 1/2 mile from the Horner Buffalo Jump Archeological site. Thus our property, due to its steep terrain immediately took the name “Buffalo Jump”. With its many native trees and bushes the property became an ideal location for an artists studio, and since it had the RV site already in place, we soon had many friends and guests stopping by during the summer months. In 2020 we joined with hipcamp to make the RV site available to select campers. Far back in time the area was utilized by the first campers; Native Americans, who were here living off the land. Artifacts attest to the fact that the property and surrounding regions has been inhabited for the past ten thousand years. Quiet hours …all hours.

Camp at the Rafter JB

1 site · RV8 acres · Lovell, WY
We have been blessed with this beautiful property and want to share it with others. We have been operating an Airbnb out of the old barn for 3 years now. The barn was the old feed store in Cody and was moved to this property. Buffalo Bill supposedly bought feed from the store. Lovell is known as the Rose Capitol of Wyoming with the climate being perfect for growing roses. The Pryor Mountain Wild Mustangs are just minutes from our place and we almost always see them out there. Cody, only 50 to the west is a town loaded with history of the old west and features Cody Nite Rodeo every night of the summer from June 1 through August 30 as well as numerous museums and other attractions. Buffalo Bill Museum of the West will keep you busy for a couple of days if you are a museum buff. Just about everyday in the summer, you are likely to see a gunfight on the street in front of the historic Irma Hotel. There is also Old Trail Town, a recreated old west town. Further to the west just 90 miles from here is the East gate of Yellowstone open from the end of May until first of November. Thermopolis with their giant hot springs is just about 100 miles to the south of us. The Bighorn National Recreation is just minutes from Lovell featuring the 3rd Largest Canyon in the United States with breathtaking views of the Reservoir from Devil's Overlook. Further to the east are the Bighorn Mountains where you can frequently see moose, elk, deer and other wildlife. Learn more about this land: Traveling in your RV but don't want a traditional "trailer park"? At the Rafter JB you will be the only trailer here, you will enjoy a large landscaped outdoor space which is shared with an Airbnb rental, but there is plenty of room for privacy. You will be away from the main road and can enjoy the pond, fire pit, bbq grill as well as the resident horses.

Camping near Cody guide

Overview

Founded by Colonel William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, the city of Cody’s western roots and wide open spaces make it perfect for camping. It’s one of the closest cities to the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park, promising incredible geysers, herds of bison, and camping in all forms, from tent campsites to RV sites to rustic cabin rentals and yurts. From there, head south to Shoshone National Forest, the first national forest in the country. It has over 1,300 miles of hiking and biking trails that wind through backcountry, mountain ranges, Shoshone River, and alpine lakes. Nearby lodging includes tent camping and RV parks equipped with potable water, toilets, and full hookups. Bighorn National Forest is only a short drive away and surrounded by the Bighorn Mountains. Grasslands, alpine meadows, and rolling hills within the park are great for horseback riding, fishing, and winter sports. Cabins here provide cozy accommodations with hot tub access, while tent campsites ensure year-round comfort with bathroom facilities, firepits, and dump stations.
