Kurt's spot was easy to access and had everything we needed. He was a great host and ensured we had what we needed. I'd love to come back and have a bit more time to enjoy this location! A great find!

Kurt is an amazing host in more ways than one. After I texted him saying we were set to arrive in our RV in the middle of the night, he gave detailed instructions on where to park. Not only that, but he congratulated us via text after he awoke on the good job of parking in the dark, since we had already left for the Buffalo Round up in our car. We reserved the site for two weeks but our son was with us and he was anxious to get home after being away for months hiking the Continental Divide Trail. We left after only five days and Kurt graciously agreed to refund us. He was so understanding and even spoke to my husband in person.
The site is amazing because it is in the middle of the countryside with no other RVs. Accommodations were excellent...great wifi. We highly recommend this host/site and hope to return in the future.

Nora’s site is very secluded and beautiful. We were only there overnight so we couldn’t enjoy the firepit, but it is a great place to be. Close to town for the necessities, but isolated enough to allow you to enjoy the natural beauty.
I’d recommend an SUV, truck, or something you’re comfortable with a fairly steep incline in for the trail in, but we had no trouble with our Ford Transit van.

Private yet vast. The sky was amazing at night! Denny was responsive and quick to communicate. He wasn’t around when we booked the site (at the last minute) so he had his neighbor (Bob- a friendly older gent) get us all set up. It was accommodating and a perfect holdover spot for us for the night. Interesting to learn the history of the area!

Another great stay. We just find more to love about this property each time we visit: walk to downtown, enjoy wildlife sightings, listen to the aspen leaves. Highly recommend.

Wow! Lots of improvements since the last time we were here! They've got solar lighting on the tent and the outdoor kitchen, a more sophisticated bathroom set up, and lots of tables/pots/pans/cooking supplies available for use. We will be back!

The host was very helpful and communicative in providing information about the site and answering questions. The land was beautiful and we had plenty of space to set up camp and hang out. Host set up a large group tent that we could hang out in, and the chairs and table were a bonus as well. Would absolutely stay again!

I enjoyed my stay at Sturgis Scenic View. The owners were friendly and the campground was quiet, clean, and well layed out. My bunkhouse was right next to the bathroom which was very clean. The other campers were also friendly.

The place is very clean and well kept. The view is very charming ,peaceful and quiet We came to Custer Star Valley as guests. When we left we have gained a new family. Mr Denny and Ms Cindy are very genuine loving and personal. The accommodation and hospitality are extremely warming. Highly recommended and it’s feels like home away from home.

This was a great little place to spend a few days. Kurt was very friendly and also very accommodating. I give this hip camp, a 4.9 out of five. The reason why I wouldn’t go to a five it would’ve been nice to have a shower. That said I still signed up to rent the spot, knowing that they did not have it.

We were rustic camping in our car. The area provided for this was unusual. It wasn’t divided into small sites — we just parked a comfortable distance from other campers. The area is unusually beautiful for a campground, with distance views of the Sturgis area through the trees.

Our stay at The Pond during Pumpfest was fantastic! The beautiful setting offered a perfect blend of remote feel and convenient access to downtown for the 20 or so campers.
The aspen grove provided shady, flat spaces for tents and hammocks, plus level parking for cars and camper vans. Climbers loved the nearby granite outcroppings. The large firepit with free firewood was a huge bonus, making our evenings even more enjoyable. They are even putting up an outdoor kitchen, which will be great when it is finished.
Highly recommend for a beautiful, convenient, and unique camping experience in the Black Hills!

Kurt’s land is beautiful. He graciously helped me get my trailer properly positioned and offered any other assistance I might need. I had a little trouble getting to the location, but that was due mostly to my fear of getting stuck somewhere I’d have to turn around. On a previous trip I’d ended up on a dead end road and it took some time to get out of it so I was gunshot.

Weekend Trip to Sturgis View Campground
I definitely enjoyed it there for nite in playhouse cabin… definitely beautiful view. Went there last min plan… especially walking thru the wilderness area it awesome and see deers n turkeys n even small bobcat… plan go back again. Town of Sturgis is awesome !! Must stop by for all bikers

We stayed there for the last two nights and what a fantastic location! Only a few miles from town, but the site was remote enough to where we could hear coyotes howl at night and see the stars…. Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse Memorial’s and Custer State Park are definitely worth visiting. The site had full hookups, (power, water & dump), a fire pit and a picnic table. The Wi-Fi was fast: 200 Mbps downlink & uplink, so uploading pictures to the cloud was fast.
The only problem that we ran into was the site is a pull-in site, (and we’re fairly new to RV camping) but the host was gracious enough to help us back-down the driveway.
We plan to return, next time we’re in the area!
