Downhome Country Farm is 10 acres of woods and prairie with a large garden, chickens, wild turkeys, guinea fowl, mules, horses, a dog, and bee hives in the pasture. We have two restored vintage campers that sleep 4 people and multiple tent sites. The bathroom and solar shower are shared by all guests. There are 2 sites for self-contained RV's with 20A electric available and water at some sites. 2 tent sites are available until the hay season (August) then the pasture is wide open tent camping. Horse boarding and camping available too. Each site can request individual fire rings. We have an outdoor community area that has a large fire pit, covered shelter and a woodfired pizza oven that will be in use on some weekends and by request. Local and national touring musicians are known to provide pop up private concerts some weekends and impromptu jam sessions. On occasion, we have outdoor movies and morning yoga along with great activities in the surrounding community too. Or just hang out in the hammocks and soak in that downhome country feeling. Come and enjoy the great outdoors on our farm!

The property was lovely and the owner's are so friendly and make you feel right at home. Loved all of the animals, especially their beautiful dog, Millie. The solar shower was a treat and there were so many decorations and gardens to see. We left with eggs, veggies and great memories. I would highly recommend and hope to return myself one day!

Very pretty and very quiet place to rest and recoup. Love seeing the cows up, close lots of turkeys and listening to the tree frogs at night. I would highly recommend anyone coming up to stop and camp there. We’re driving a class a 40 foot motorhome although it’s tight getting in we did it with no problem.

Cute, quiet little spot. The hosts popped over to make sure I had everything I needed and the lay of the land. My dogs and I stayed for one night, just to get out of town and do some hiking, and this spot was a perfect little place to relax for a night.

Adorable little private spot in the center of everything. You are close to the owners house but they are so nice, kind and respectful of your privacy. Gravel parking spot with picnic table and fire pit. Very clean and very well kept. You are close to a cute downtown area and minutes from Custer State park. A definite gem!! Would recommend and visit again

The property and sites are beautiful and the farm animals were a plus and no bother at all. A very pleasant and restful stay and the hosts could not have been more helpful. The cowboy shower was a first for me! Brisk but awesome, nonetheless. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Carole and Her Husband are awesome hip camp hosts. Everything at the campsites is absolutely wonderful. This morning I had coffee with the horses and mule, along with chickens and Guinea fowl . Their bathroom and solar shower is both functional and uniquely assembled.
There’s a beautiful walk path through the trees .
The fire pit is magnificent.

Cool setup with a couple of vintage campers if you’re not already towing one. Rainwater/solar shower that was pretty great. We arrived late in the pouring rain and the host met us outside and got us to our spot. Super cool hosts.

We loved staying the night here! It was an unexpected find but it was the most magical stay! The campground was clean, fun, and lively. The farm animals were so cute and a nice touch to the land. Carole and her husband were so kind showing us around their property and made us feel right at home. Wonderful Stay – Peaceful and Welcoming
We had a wonderful stay! The hosts struck the perfect balance—checking in just enough to make us feel welcome without being overbearing. It was thoughtful of them to greet us and also to check in again as we were leaving to say goodbye and make sure we had a nice stay.
The setting was peaceful and relaxing. We especially enjoyed watching the hot air balloons in the morning and walking up the hill to take in the views.

My daughter called me needing a place to sleep for the night. After taking several minutes to try and figure out exactly where she was, I searched and found Camp Custer and it was PERFECT! She was only about 2 minutes away (divine intervention, ya think) and she sent me pictures...gorgeous! It was exactly what we needed! And Kurt & Randee communicated beautifully! I felt like my daughter was at a friend's visiting! Such peace of mind!
