We are offering up an area on our property for clean, friendly, quiet campers that want to get out of the city and enjoy some peace and quiet. We are located in Banks, Oregon. We are approximately 45 minutes west of downtown Portland. Our camping area is about 5 acres and offers something for everyone. If you have a large RV and need a safe and quiet spot to stay for the night, we got you. We have a large fire pit, Adirondak chairs, a large picnic table, and a swing set for the kids. Badminton and cornhole available on request. Family get-togethers or birthday parties are welcome! We are located just 1.5 miles from The Banks-Vernonia Trail. Bike campers are welcome! Feel free to bring along your 4-legged friends as well. We do not have a fence, so if you do not trust your dog of a leash, please keep them tied up. We have a lot of deer that pass through and untrained dogs love chasing them. Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies, Spirits, or campfire wood. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer. We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots. We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of. During the late summer, our 5 apple trees produce great fruit. We also have 2 plum trees, and some blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like. Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly. Please, only book if you have an RV with working plumbing. **We will not accept tent campers** Please feel free to ask me any questions, we are willing to make accommodations for special situations/events if possible!

The RV site backs up to Southwest Community Park, 41.9 acres, an undeveloped nature park in the Southwest Gresham Neighborhood (East Portland). The Park is partially wooded and slopes east towards 19 acres of Fairview Creek Headwaters. Views include Grant and Jenne Buttes and Mt. St. Helens. The Park contains a large Western Red Cedar/Mixed Tree Grove and a Douglas Fir Grove, both of which are identified on the City’s significant tree list. The Park provides valuable wildlife and fish habitat, and will be preserved, protected and enhanced as part of the City’s conservation effort. Learn more about this land: This is a great neighborhood spot to park with full amenities just outside of Portland, while having immediate access to 40 wooded acres with walking path and .7 mi to the Springwater Trail for biking/running. 25 mins to downtown Portland; Easy day trips that are ~30 minutes drive to Waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge (Bridal Veil, Multnomah Falls) or under an hour to Mt. Hood for time in the snow! Fenced in backyard for any of your 4-legged friends to stretch. Gas fire pit, gas grill and patio table + lounge chairs are all open for sharing. Our previous homeowner had a trailer and set up this nice pad with built in hookups. We have grandparents with a 27' RV that come visit a few weekends a year, but we would love to share this corner of the woods with others looking for an accessible home base to access Portland/Mt. Hood/Gorge +. Note: Our driveway entry is steep, but navigable. We limit the trailer/RV length to 27' in order to avoid bottoming out. Novice trailer drivers may want to avoid. For quick bearings if you are booking while on the road, we are located just off 26 (Powell), 5 miles from I-205 or 11 miles from I-5 via the Ross Island Bridge. If you are traveling along I-84, we are 4 miles south from the exit.

Bigfoot Acres

There are plenty of adventures to be had while out searching for the elusive Bigfoot. This property is located within walking distance of Mount Hood National Forest and within a fifteen minute drive of several lakes, rivers and even an Off Road vehicle area. All of our sites are "pull through" type sites and give you plenty of room to spread out. Each site has a fire pit to keep you warm while gazing at the amazing night sky. Even if you don't leave the property you will find plenty of things to do. Visit our pond (currently still under construction) to view wildlife, find a new trail, stargaze or just enjoy the peace and quiet. During the winter you can explore miles of backcountry roads on snowshoes or skies as we tend to be very near the snow line most of the winter. GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Your experience will certainly be unique to the season. Your host Jim Toler represents the fifth generation of the farm and will happily share stories of the farm and it's history. GeerCrest Farm is truly an off-the-beaten-path gem.

Being raised in the community, and over ten years of experience in the local food and wine industry, I can give recommendations aplenty. ꕥ The property has been in our family since the late 60’s and has recently been transferred in ownership to the next generation! It’s been a large adjustment with many precious memories in tow. In hopes to carry on the legacy we opened up camp mid-summer 2021, and it’s a work in progress (as work normally is!), but has been a beautiful experience being in a position to share. River Mountain Meadow

Learn more about this land: It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond, but the Lewis river is in within walking distance and tons of recreational activities are close by (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with a few residential homes and Airbnbs along the river, so be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is close by for a quick trip. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a close trip out of town for a day or two. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow!!! Also, an enclosed dog run is being built and we will eventlually get the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal). Please, read each site description carefully! Site 1 has a composting toilet for tent campers (please do not rate me based on this or any other things out of my control, I have tried my best to inform you about what to be aware of in this description and each site's description, importantly the toilet is santized, bags and gel are provided and it's private, however, you MUST pack out ALL waste; if you do not like any of these conditions please do not book this site to help avoid a less than recommended rating). Site 2 is for RVs that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules.

Meg's Meadow

Our property used to be part of a farm that is over a hundred years old. At one point there was a roadhouse at the corner by the road. Apparently that is where the name duck inn comes from. We have recently built a new home on one side of the property and are pleased to offer the meadow for your primitive camping enjoyment. We lived in town for many years and are excited to share our country location with guests. Learn more about this land: Only 38 minutes away from downtown Portland. Come take a break and relax for the night in this small getaway spot. Perfect space for van lifers and road trips needing a break from driving. Our place is only 10 min from shopping including an outlet mall. Historic Silverton is 20 min away. Silver Falls is about 30 min away and has great hiking trails. The Silverton reservoir is a small lake 20 min away and is good for swimming and paddle boats. Small evergreen trees surround the tent sites. For an RV you can just drive in as far as you are comfortable on the grassy field. It is a little difficult to turn a trailer around, but it can be done if you don't mind backing out etc.

Baley Cabin

Located 2 miles from majestic Moulton Falls, 5 miles from Sunset Falls campground, 6 miles to Lucia Falls Park, and just across the road from the East Fork of the Lewis River. This could be your home base for year round activities available near the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The campsite is away from our main living and activity spaces, allowing for privacy yet safety for proximity to your hosts. Deer wander around our property all hours of the day, and bald eagles are often spotted in our trees or circling above. The campsite is on an unlandscaped part of our property, inviting to all local wildlife and birds, we even have a wild turkey family that frequentlyvisits. We would love to share our beautiful wooded 8 acres. We live here but your site is far enough from our house for privacy. The RV pad is surrounded by trees. Our RV space will easily park a 38ft. RV. It has full hookups with either 30 amp or 50-amp power. You are only 2 miles from shopping and only miles from Lackamas Lake and Battleground Lake for hiking, swimming, biking, boating and fishing. Down the road about 1/4 mile is Velvet Acres barn where you can buy fresh produce in July, August and September, then in October it's a Pumpkin Patch. Be sure while you’re here you visit Vancouvers waterfront downtown. Great shops and excellent places to eat. On weekends there’s a large farmers market that has all kinds of fresh produce. While here be sure to drive out to the gorge, it is one of the more breathtaking sites in the NW. We are 10 miles from the Columbia River and 36 miles from Multnomah Falls. On a nice day you can drive to the beach to cool off, it's about 90 miles to Longbeach. Being in the wetlands we have a lot of trees for privacy. The RV area is at the end of an area that is gated for security. There is a grassy area outside your door and a grassy area out back of your RV. We have trails you are welcome to use. You will see bunnies and all kinds of birds as well as deer that visit now and then. Although they have built homes on the west side the fence and trees give plenty of privacy. They recently started a home that should be done within a month. Contact me for updates. This is a perfect place if visiting the area or it’s a great place for snowbirds or workers that are in this area for weeks or months. Text me ahead for openings.
