Echo Valley Forest Reserve is a backcountry site located deep within the forest near the center of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, ten minutes from Empire Beach, Glen Haven, and Glen Arbor. The camp site is completely private, with only party rented to at a time. It is in the center of a 40-acre parcel, surrounded by thousands of acres of National Lakeshore and private forested land. Access is off of a rough seasonal two-track but most 2-wheel drive cars are fine. Watch out for rocks. There are solar lights, a pit toilet, a fire ring, and a ~8x8' deck. There is room for 4 cars, and as many tents as you can set up. We have 4 rules: 1) Leave no trace. Do not leave garbage at camp. DO NOT BURN garbage, people cook in that pit. 2) NO cutting into the live trees. You will get a 0-star review, 100% of the time. 3) Keep cars on the gravel driveway. 4) Put out all fires completely (COLD) and respect any Burn Bans that may be active at the time of your stay. These are issued by the fire department, not me.

Our property is at the end of a private road and has been in the family for decades. We fondly refer to it as One Grand Place and we are excited to be sharing it with you. Our Premium RV site has a cement pad, parallel to the river. Can accommodate 1 RV up to 30' (NO Class A's allowed). 30/50/standard 110 electric and water hookup. Pump out is available for a fee. At the very far west end of the property is a large grassy area with 2 sites (1 RV or Tent and 1 Tent only) perpendicular to the river. Both have 30 and standard 110 electric and water. Rent our elevated popup tent.  There is plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like? It is your very own exclusive home away from home.   Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and surrounded by natural wetlands. So, we are a perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy fresh air and picture perfect sunsets. Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few things to be enjoyed on the water. There's a public boat launch just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou Park has a kayak specific boat launch. Or, you can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore. Hiking, biking and wildlife/bird/eagle watching are also options. Lake Michigan beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away. Holland is about 30 minutes south. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 25 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker, Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is 40 minutes North in Muskegon. Grand Rapids is 40 minutes to the East. There are also many wineries, distilleries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan as well as "you pick" blueberries and many festivals in the summer. This partially wooded site, set back from the main road 250’, offers privacy while also being within the boundaries of the small community of Paradise. Restaurants, groceries and food trucks are a short walk away. The beach or the stair’s viewing deck offer a great spot to watch the sun rise over the lake while having your morning brew. You can pick wild blueberries in July and August in the woods between your camper and the beach. I would highly recommend staying at Doug and Kerri's place. The views are beautiful and it was so peaceful and relaxing. They have a lot of extras at the campground and it's easy to tell they want their guests to be comfortable and happy. They were easy to communicate with and very pleasant. This is a perfect spot to stay on your visit to the Upper Peninsula. It is conveniently located near a grocery store, convenience stores, and restaurants. Unfortunately, the food trucks were not open while we were there. You are a few short steps from the water on White Fish Bay and a sandy beach. We will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Superior Sunrises and had a great time! The place was easy to find and tucked away. You're very close to restaurants and stores which is great, but it's tucked back far enough to feel secluded. The deck overlooking Lake Superior was definitely our favorite part. Absolutely stunning! It was very nice having access to electricity and water. We didn't plan on using it, but it got pretty cold so we had to pull out our tent heater. The hosts were very helpful and created a great space for memories. We will absolutely be back in the summer!

Compared to the business and crowds of the nearby state campgrounds, this is an oasis. Also so fun that there are amenities like a small grocery store and a couple cafes/food trucks within walking distance.

Absolutely loved our stay on Doug and Kerri's property! The views are just stunning! And to be right there on the Grand River was really a huge privilege, no crowding, it's quiet and you have big solid fire pit. You can fish directly from your site. The property is beautifully maintained and Doug and Kerri think of it all when it comes to providing amenities (Grill, Cornhole, games, firewood, outhouse, solar shower, pump out service, etc...). They are great about communicating and getting you to the property and set up. I am so glad we stayed here and I sure wish I lived closer as I would be there often. Highly recommend!

Paradise is the perfect name for this spot! Tucked in a little town yet feeling completely secluded, this campsite strikes the best balance of convenience and privacy. I loved being able to walk across the street to the grocery store, then return to a peaceful site with water and electric hookups plus access to a private sandy beach. The location made an ideal home base for exploring the area, and the bonus was the local food trucks—don’t miss the freshly caught whitefish and definitely grab the onion rings. 10 stars! I’ll absolutely be back.

The only con is that personally, our site was right next to the building in which the fish guts were kept, so it smelled pretty bad most of the time depending on how the wind blew. We weren’t at our campsite much so it was fine, but something to be aware of when selecting tent site #30.

We had a great and relaxing time at One Grand Place! Thank you Doug & Kerri for being so responsive and for your recommendation to Crossroads Blueberry Farm, we loved their pie, donuts and Blueberries! You can tell by the care you take in your site by how clean you maintain it, and that’s appreciated. While we didn’t use the portable shower, my husband used the porta potty as we were leaving he mentioned it was clean and had a surprisingly (and appreciated) pleasant odor ;) Thank you for all of your help, your rv site is just what we needed. We hope to come back again!

Frequent HipCampers here, place is a gem. Close to town, quiet, secluded, on the river!! 10 minutes from MTB single track 20 minutes from the lake 15 minutes from breweries/restaurants Right on the river with easy access for swimming On site amenities: Electric 30 amp, 12v Porta poddy Water hookups - didn't use Shower area - nice to not have to break ours out. Grill- nice again to not have to break ours out. Table with chairs, along with a picnic table. Picnic table dedicated to our site. Games - didn't use but nice addition. Hard not to relax at this place with the setup Doug and Kerri have. Enjoy!

Such a great location! Doug was super kind when getting us settled in, and Kerri was always so prompt when we were in the planning and staying stages of our trip. Location was great- close enough to do our daily activities but not feeling like we were stuck if we wanted to pop into town. Space was wonderful, it didn’t feel like we were camping on top of other guests. Would camp here again in a heartbeat!

I appreciated the helpful and friendly staff. They have a great store onsite, nice shower houses, a nice game room and a pool. It’s wonderful to have the river on property and just float, swim or fish! It’s also close to a grocery store (which happens to have a Starbucks inside if that’s your jam). One thing I didn’t like is one half of the park seemed to be long term residents. It just made it feel different for a vacation spot. Additionally the tent campsites are VERY small.
