Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch. Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees. Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando. Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish). Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location. But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! I loved it there! So quiet and peaceful. The camp ground is nostalgic and small. The bathroom and shower could use some help (to be honest), but the running water by the cabin seems to be well-water, cold, and very fresh. A quick well-water shower behind the cabin was refreshing and lovely. Centrally located to lots of area hiking and things to do. Historic Brooksville was adorable and I highly recommend having brunch at the Lazy Maid Creperie, voted #1 restaurant in Brooksville. I would definitely come back to this camp ground and utilize the cabin again. I also liked the primitive camp sites and only a short walk from parking. My entire experience was two thumbs up.

William’s property is an outstanding Hipcamp experience. The land is beautiful and expansive—over 80 acres with well-maintained trails, food plots that attract wildlife, and a real sense of privacy and peace. The amenities truly set this place apart. The heated bathhouse was spotless and felt more like a lodge than a campground. We stayed in the duck tent, which came with a heater and was warm, cozy, and extremely well set up—easily a glamping-level experience. The property is very dog-friendly and thoughtfully maintained throughout. Everything reflects care, intention, and pride of ownership. We stayed for five nights and would absolutely return. Highly recommend.

I loved the rustic cottage, extremely serene. Enjoyed petting the goats and taking walks to the lake. Melissa (the host) was very nice and informative. always a text or call away. Will be coming back!

Took my friend who had only been camping once in 84 years- she's still talking about what an incredible place it was. The A-frame has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Can't wait to return!

Pretty cool experience. I always wanted to stay in a vintage camper. Cozy the bed was nice and comfortable The little heater was just right. I just wish it had a shelter, bathroom, and shower area but definitely a great experience pretty cool place

My family had a great time at John’s camp and we were all sad to be leaving. The place was clean and well stocked. John was friendly and there if you needed him but, we never felt like we were being watched. My husband and I loved being able to take our daughter on the kayaks (which were a great price), my daughter loved the trampoline and plethora of swings, and our dog loved being able to lounge on the deck with the occasional visit from John’s dogs. Overall could not recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a quiet getaway especially if you enjoy being on the water.

Weekend Trip to The Wandering Path

We had a wonderful time! We booked a yurt which was so nice, very spacious and the heater worked amazing - we were there for 2 nights in the cold/rain but that didn't put a damper on it at all. Beautiful property, lots of trails and the prettiest beach right on the river that you can see from a lot of the camp sites. Great communication from the owner! We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Skyacres aka the tin cottage

I loved staying here! The cabin was excellent and the property is beautiful. You can tell a lot of work was put into this property. We had an excellent time here with our dog and close by to some cool hikes and a nature drive near the Suwannee River. A great place to escape and have a few beers and smores.
