Bird watchers welcome, it’s easy to spot real beauties in this quiet untouched gem. Make your way down to the river for tubing, canoeing, wading or just picnicking on the bank overlooking the pristine golden sandy bottom where the water is almost always just knee high. Need to pick up snacks? Sandy Bottom River Retreat

My new go-to camping spot!

Excellent site for primitive camping! Very secluded and peaceful, right next to a creek. It was chilly at night, but they have awesome fire pits, so easy for me to warm up. I felt miles away from the hustle and bustle. From my experiences on Hipcamp thus far, the communication was unparalleled, Kira couldn't have been more accommodating and responded very quickly to any questions I had. Just be advised, there is no power, toilet, or potable water source, which was no problem for my situation. The fairy lights were a pleasant surprise that I didn't expect (not blinding or anything, just a nice subtlety at my site). 11 out of 10 for me, will definitely be back, has to be my go-to camping site at this point (full disclosure: I live in the Tampa area, so the drive time was a major plus for me). Thank you so much Kira for an amazing long and relaxing weekend!

Sandy Bottom River Retreat

Second time here and absolutely love it! The bugs were definitely out to bite this time though, bring bug spray! Cant wait to go back next season when it gets a little cooler again.:)
