Bridgeport Reservoir is a lake at the lower end of Bridgeport Valley in Mono County, California. Its earth-filled dam was constructed in 1923 by the Walker River Irrigation District, along the East Walker River. The campground and marina was built I-don't-know-how-long ago, but it sure is nice!
About Us: Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Join us for the classic camping and fishing experience with unique views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the Toiyabe National Forest, Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground is conveniently located near two distinct hot spring areas. A true angler's paradise, the Reservoir has excellent trout fishing from spring through fall and is close by to multiple rivers for incredible fly fishing. A 35 minute drive on highway 120 will take you to the Tioga Pass Gate of Yosemite National Park. This gate is a great start to several different areas inside of the park that you may want to visit beyond that gate. Off-road enthusiasts would not have enough time in one visit to explore all of the 4x4 trails, abandoned mines, and sites in the area as well as the famous trail that brings you right to the Bodie Ghost Town.
Climate and Ecosystem: At 6,400 feet (1,950 meters), this high desert climate has little to moderate tree coverage and gets hot during the days and cool at night. The conditions are much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. During your visit, you will notice many flying insects that resemble mosquitos. These Chironomid are harmless and do not bite. On the contrary, the mosquito presence is very minimal.
Swimming in the lake is possible usually between April to July.

We’re just 10 minutes from Tomales, 15 from Valley Ford, and 3.5 miles from Dillon Beach. Bring a kayak or canoe and paddle from camp to the Pacific via the Estero.
Primitive and RV Sites with sweeping views of West Marin pastureland at True Grass Farms, a working ranch along the Estero San Antonio. Our campsites are well spaced for privacy and quiet, surrounded by birdsong, grazing animals, and the rhythms of ranch life.

There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please).
IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed.
We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day.

Very peaceful spot! Super close to Santa Fe if you’d like to head out and explore, but there were plenty of hikes and beautiful views even from the tent if you’re not up for hikes! Amenities are great- clean bathrooms, plenty of cooking supplies, and potable water. Made it to camp in my sedan just fine, too. Closest store is a bit away, so just make sure you have all the extras you’d like. :)

Private site with good amount of shades. Tent deck was big enough to accomodate our big tent and propane heater is provided so you just have to bring a gas tank to use it. Clean bathroom and taking a hot shower was great after coming back from Yosemite.

The campsite's view is unbeatable! There is a picnic table with an umbrella that has lights you can turn on in it, which is handy. The site was easy to find. I was worried because they give detailed directions, which is appreciated, but it is actually fairly straightforward to find.

This was my second time back at Bridgeport and we had a great time. Got to hit some hot springs, Yosemite and mono lake this weekend. There were a lot of little water bugs and active bats this time around, early june! Campsite #27 doesn’t have any sun coverage so I would recommend to bring a canopy but my boyfriend and I love this camp ground!

Very cool spot. Close to Yosemite Hetch Hetchy section. This is the place to go. Hike out to the waterfall. The bathrooms are clean and the water is great. We hung out with the owner some. Awesome dude! Highly recommend.

Very open space but the least habited in the entire park. Not as private as some creekside areas. Slight incline but better than 13 & 14. Very clean, no critter visits and almost no bugs. Very friendly staff in the store. Common showers were super clean. Convenient to porta pot and playground. Cleanest ports pot ever used, even by Sunday morning!
