Villa Macala

Villa Macala is a 20-acre oasis of detailed landscape, orchards and Southern CA native planting while complimenting the natural rocks and gorgeous views.   Enjoy the many hiking trails and rest in the peace, quiet and beauty.  *NOTE:  Scroll down to RV/Tent sites to book for a larger tent camping party over 4 people or for a camper van under 14 feet.

PLEASE NOTE: Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Overlooking the Hemet Valley with gorgeous panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains, Villa Macala is reminiscent of an Italian Villa. The property landscape includes Olive Orchards throughout, a growing vineyard, fig trees, pomegranate trees  (NOTE: We have tent camp sites only and can accommodate camper vans and truck campers depending on size and which site selected, however we CANNOT accommodate pull behind trailers, pull behind campers or RVs of any kind).

Villa Macala is 15 minutes from Diamond Valley Lake where you can enjoy a wildflower trail, fishing or mountain bike trails, museum and water park. It is 20-30 minutes to Pachea Trail and Simpson Park where you can enjoy more great hiking and mountain bike trails.  It is also a 30-minute drive to Temecula Wine Country. 

We have 2 outdoor bathrooms, one was most recently added one at our Elderberry Camp Site (site 1), closer to site 4 our Oaks Campsite as well.  (Please note our 2nd bathroom is a good walk uphill from the campsites). Our larger bathroom campers can use with a shower and small fridge to store your food.  We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy. 

FIRES: No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property.  He will provide instructions. 

TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Please let us know prior to arrival if you are interested in a scheduled tasting during your stay! We can provide a tasting if we have the proper staff during your visit.  Our products are available for purchase, with or without a tasting. We recommend you bring cash if you are interested.  We also take Venmo!

MT SOMEWHERE, a 10-acre private mountain retreat is nestled high above the Temecula Valley, yet only 3 miles to Old Town and Pechanga Casino. 

We offer a variety of ways for you to enjoy your stay, from private rooms in the main.house to hike-in only dispersed camping.  We welcome you to come to the country and experience the untamed natural beauty and rustic vibe of this hidden rural property.  

Hear the roosters in the morning, watch the hummingbirds on the deck at the main. house or relax with a cup of coffee under the giant birds of paradise.  Or you can scale the 60-foot *movie rock* to take in the 360 views; from Pala Valley to Oceanside and Corona to San Diego, there is no better place to watch the sunset (or sunrise).  You are surrounded by 300-year-old oak trees and granite boulders which makes you feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet a $10 UBER puts you right in the middle of Old Town.

MT SOMEWHERE is a rare untouched piece of land smack dab in the middle of Southern California, which delights all our guests that come to realize all who wander are not lost.

Nestled in the hills overlooking Temecula. Our family farm is a labor of love and a constantly evolving project. We grow most of what we eat and specialize in avocados, pink lemons, grapefruits and oranges, blood oranges and passion fruits.

This is our corner of paradise and every morning or evening, sunrise or sunset is always a magical moment with our glorious views of mountain, city, ocean.

Private 35 acre Private Land Restoration Project surrounded by rolling hills, mountain views and open sky.  Unlike most campgrounds, our sites are spread far apart to give all visitors a private experience in Nature. 

The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular year round.

Stars and open skies that you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else in southern California.

Just 15 minutes from Temecula wineries, 40 minutes from the alpine, artsy town of Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains, and just 15 minutes from the 215 in Menifee toward Hemet.

Best to visit from early autumn to lush springtime where we have great wildflower blooms.

Cooperative managers Jim and Dawn host visitors who want to enjoy nature, participate in regenerative gardening all while off-setting their travel footprint. Fees go to our not for profit land restoration which includes planting trees, improving aquifers and enriching the soil.

The property is a owned by a restorative co-op (turning a former illegal dump into an oasis of hope) where we invite you to participate in creative local solutions to our larger global problems. * If your group is larger than six adults, pease visit our group listings page. If your group needs special privacy and sound requirements and you'd like to reserve the entirer property, you will need to contact us directly. * Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis.

* Our visitor support pricing is $20 for the first person and $15 for all additional adults.  Kids 6 - 12 are $10 per night.  We don't want to charge for kids 6 and under, so do not include them in your booking.   Thanks!

* Campfire rings are only in common clearing, designated and permitted areas.  Please check for seasonal fire restrictions.

We forgot the proper utensils to make hot dogs, so we made use with some smores sticks I had. It was quite the adventure trying to get them from the fire to the plate.

It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled
all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.

Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature.   We are now open for daily camping and private events.
