Hanscombe Point Plantation is a 300 acre working farm that has been in the Legare family for 9 generations. We raise beef cows, heritage breeds of pigs, laying hens, and water buffalo.
Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year.
Our accommodations include a vintage camper, primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and an RV area on our farm.
We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. Use our property as your base of operation as you have fun at the beach or tour the historic city, or just stay for a quiet get away in the woods.
There is also a lot of wildlife such as: wild turkeys, woodstorks, raccoons, and alligators. Fishing and crabbing are available on the salt water creek next to the campsite as well.
We look forward to hosting you!
Linda's campground offers a tranquil and scenic escape in a forested area, ideal for those seeking a primitive camping experience. Visitors appreciate the spacious campsites and the presence of friendly farm animals like cows and donkeys, which add to the charm of the setting. While the proximity to an airport means occasional plane noise, the overall atmosphere remains peaceful and relaxing. Some campers noted the need for clear communication regarding firewood availability and site usage etiquette, but overall, the campground is well-received for its natural beauty and convenience to nearby attractions.
Great directions and owner was easy to reach for additional details which was super helpful since we arrived in the evening. Site was clearly marked and was tidy. Only 10 minutes from the Angel Oak which is a must see when visiting the area.
If Linda would’ve just replied to my message about me canceling or rescheduling my trip and not billing me, because I couldn’t make it… Then I would recommend it.
Still haven’t heard from her.
