Swimming but not a sea baby? You can take an indoor dip at LED Sidmouth Swimming Pool.
A lovely campsite that is clearly aimed at back packers / bike packers. Quiet and out of the way with really laid back and friendly hosts. Good washing and loo amenities though they are basic rather than fancy. It was a shame it was raining as we arrived as otherwise it obviously offers spectacular views of the sunsets.
This is a remote, quiet site with helpful owners
I think £24 for a single person & car is quite a lot given how basic it is
And charging for drinking water is a bit cheeky
Otherwise great
The views were stunning and the site was so quiet that we were treated to a family of deer wandering through the field and the sound of owls at night. Hosts went out of their way to be around to greet us and check we had what we needed. The composting loos were clean and site functional and peaceful.
We had such a lovely stay! The hosts were really helpful and welcoming, it was a really easy and lovely place to bring kids and let them just play - it was a small enough site not to worry where they had gone and they got to know some of the neighbouring campers which was nice. Beautiful sunset and night sky views and fantastic walks nearby.
Wild camping but with a fabulous hot outdoor shower , clean compost toilets and the best hosts! We arrived at Fire Beacon camping on our bikes and were met by KT and Ricardo , the most welcoming of hosts . the campsite is a big field with wild flowers , apple trees and a view up to Beacon Hill and down across the valley. Fabulous out door shower , hot and loads of space ,you look
up through the beech tree to the sky. Firepits , limited numbers of dampers on the site , quiet nights apart from the owls . idyllic wild campsite .
