Right now the property is pretty barren excluding our workshop that we use for a branding business. There is an amazing view of the mountains as well as stars. The property is very peaceful and very little disturbances. The perfect get away from the city! We are 45 minutes from Colorado Springs. Maybe 20 minutes from Ellicott and Callaghan where you can get groceries as well as gas
Kyle’s field was a peaceful, secluded place to spend the night on our way east. We played some songs for the cows, and enjoyed the sounds of wildlife. Drive all the way to the northeast corner to find the wooden posts marking the camp sites!
We will start out with the positives
- we saw a dear, and heard coyotes
-decently quiet
-a lot of open space
-close to the paint mines
-good view for sunrise and sunset
Negatives
-we are not sure that we stayed in the correct place because directions were confusing
-the yard was messy (broken cars, an RV, broken trampoline, trailer offices?, and random things)
-if any other than us was there , there would not be enough parking or easily accessible
-we were ok with the no bathrooms but there was nothing really to go to the bathroom behind
-parking and tent sight unclear
Personally, think the price could have been cheaper for what was provided. We made the best of it, enjoyed our company, but do not think we would return
Was a nice spot in the pasture to view the rains move across the mountain range. Enjoyed the dry breezes across the prairies reminding me of home.
