Jeremy Clarksons Diddly squat farm (21m) and his new public house have also become popular with our guests. If walking or running is more your focus then why not explore the beautiful RSPB Otmoor bird reserve, a haven for wildlife with many visitor trials to enjoy, it’s merely a short walk away. A very warm welcome to our guests at Little Eden, a restful and relaxing, riverside campsite for tents and campervans with grass pitches. We’re in a great spot if you love fishing, kayaking, gorge walking, cycling, seasides, fossil hunting, wild swimming, fell running, bird watching, archaeology or even Viking history!
We are 9 miles from the mystical Glastonbury Abbey and Tor and directly on a Sustrans 33 cycle path route. The River Brue runs alongside the campsite with damsel flies fluttering by and kingfishers darting back and forth. We are on the Somerset levels so the sunsets are amazing as well as night time stargazing. We have a private, wooden jetty where you can launch your own paddle board. It’s a perfect get away for campers and nature lovers. Bring your own raised BBQs and logs or buy firewood on site. A family run campsite around 30 miles south of Bristol on the banks of the River Brue, it has a relaxed vibe and we try to keep things simple and straight forward. It’s ideal for doing some day trips nearby, then lighting the BBQ and playing Frisbee (games box you are most welcome to use). Shower and toilet, drinking water, washing-up sink in garden kitchenette.
Our big sister site is just 4 miles away, and the café bar at 'Wall Eden Farm' serves fantastic coffee, cake, and family-made Somerset cider. If looking for classic countryside pub meal The Duck at Burtle and The Bird at Westhay are local favourites, be sure to book! Burnham on Sea close by has great fish and chips, a sandy beach, a pier and promenade if you like salty fingers and sandy toes.

C S Lewis lived on the edge of Shotover woods and so we can fairly assume that Shotover is the inspiration for the Narnia trilogy. Shotover Country Park is one of Oxfords best kept secrets and consists of 280 acres of freely accessible woodland and open countryside. It is a paradise for dog walkers, horse riders and cyclists and also has natural sandpits for children to enjoy.
We will be offering woodland rides from this location in 2026 as we need to do some fencing work first.

We stayed at Nancy's (70s’ caravan). The interior was the cosiest I could ever ask for. Minimalist but essential amenities made our stay enjoyable.
The camping site offers good views, especially for watching a splendid sunset if the weather is right. Campsite facilities are well-maintained and spotless.
Its location is very close to Evesham, making it easy to find shops, pubs, and access roads to other nearby destinations.
Don't miss paying Shakespeare a visit if you haven't done so yet 😉

wow don't know where to start Sammy was so amazing it felt like home. gorgeous pwople. made us feel very welcome outstanding. wish didn't have to leave. hot tub was so amazing even in the cold Xmas nights. gorgeous. Sammy and Joanna have got everything to a t. just out standing and his brother was so great too.

Hosts are lovely, warm and very welcoming. Facilities are outstanding, with communal kitchen and games rooms with had a pool table, air hockey and the means to play table tennis.
The pod was warm, comfortable and homely. We cannot wait to stay again. Perfect getaway.

Amazing campsite, stunning views in every direction. We stayed here after our foraging course in Hay on Wye and we were greeted by Ross, super friendly and welcoming host. We thoroughly enjoyed walking in the local area. We can't wait to go back next year.

We had a great stay. We stayed for one night and used it as a base to cycle to Glastonbury and back. We were left to ourselves and trusted by the owner which we loved. Sites like this are the reason we bought out camper van. Thanks for a great stay.

we went camping in nic and leighs site and it was beautiful, we was the only ones on the camping site but either way it was peiceful and amazing facilites including the comunal fiepit. my kids and my dog loved the area and rubnibg through the trees. the toilets,showers ,game room, the park and the kitchen, was amazing. will 100% be comming again and recommending to others. amazing place to be

Wow, Little Eden is exactly what it says it is. It has everything for a wonderful camping experience. You are totally emmersed in Nature. You can hear the wild life and birds around you. You can use a fire pit and sit outside under the stars, whilst keeping warm.
The decor is beautiful, the facilities are great.
Showers, toilets, washing machine, fridge and anything else you can think of.
I would definitely recommend Little Eden to everyone.

Despite the weather we had a great few nights here. The facilities are clean and modern and the barn provided everything we could need, including some much needed shelter during the high winds and rain we experienced. Great campsite with plenty of space.

We only stayed one night as a trial so we didn’t get out & about, but the toilets/showers were clean, and the washing up shed (with charging dock) was very useful. The warden came to lend us a hammer when we were clearly struggling with our mallet, and David’s son very kindly offered help as we had car trouble. It felt like a ‘nice’, safe place to be with our young daughter.

Cotswolds
Just east of Gloucester, the Cotswolds AONB is the postcard star of the English countryside. Think rolling green farmlands, winding country lanes, and idyllic villages built from the region’s characteristic golden stone. A road trip is the best way to explore, stopping to browse the artisan shops in Broadway or Chipping Norton, take a hike in the hills, or spend a night at a luxury glampsite.
Malvern Hills
Rural pleasures await in the Malvern Hills AONB, just north of Gloucester. Hike through wooded valleys or bluebell meadows, pitch your tent amid rolling farmlands and fruit orchards, or check into a glampsite with tipis or treehouses in the heart of the forest. Must-sees include the view from Worcestershire Beacon and the Iron Age hillfort at British Camp.
Wye Valley
Forest walks and riverside strolls draw nature lovers to the Wye Valley, a 30-minute drive west of Gloucester. Paddle along the Wye River in a canoe, hike through wildflower meadows, then enjoy lunch at a riverfront pub, accompanied by a glass of the region’s famous cider. Over the Welsh border, admire the picturesque ruins of Tintern Abbey, visit the market town of Chepstow, or hike part of the Offa's Dyke trail.
When to go
Gloucester is a year-round destination—come in the summer to enjoy water sports along the river or cosy up at a quayside pub in the winter months. Summer (June through August) is festival season and brings the biggest crowds to the city, so book accommodation in advance. Mild temperatures make spring and autumn ideal for hiking in the AONBs, and the forests are particularly photogenic in fall.

- Gloucester has several camping and outdoors stores where you can pick up everything you need for your camping trip.
- Gloucester has public transport links to many of the surrounding towns and AONBs, but it is handy to have your own transport, especially if staying at rural campsites.
- Wild camping is illegal throughout the UK, although there are some areas where it is possible with permission from the landowners.
