Beautiful tranquil desert smplicity
We had a great time staying at the bunkhouse, despite the summer heat. It is a charming cozy bare-bones little room that is a perfect jumping off point for area excursions. We were right in the middle of the ranch but it is peaceful and we weren't in the slightest bit bothered by the regular daily work. The owners are very nice and were very helpful. Water and amenities are nearby but not in the bunkhouse itself, so bring water bottles and shoes that are easy to slip into. Also think about ice if you are visiting in the summer, especially with dogs. The bunkhouse has a freezer so you can make and store ice cubes (which is what we did) or just pick up a bag of ice somewhere. Also, there is no wi-fi, and cell service is a bit attenuated. So preparing for "offline mode" is a good idea when planning routes. Though there is also wi-fi available at some or the nearby shops. Don't let any of that discourage you -- this place is a gem.
