Close to everything, an oasis in suburbia. 5 acre property, 30 mins from airport, 5 mins to Cleveland and Stradbroke ferry, 15 mins to Sleeman Aquatic Centre and Belmont Shooting Complex. 3 large grassed sites Easy access to public transport - 200m to bus stop, 3km to train station Only one site has bathroom access, Hillhead. One acre dog enclosure available for friendly dogs. Large grassed areas among gum trees, set high so there are sea breezes in summer. Lots of birdlife, with kookaburras, galahs, curlews, cockatoos and lorikeets nesting on site, you will meet our friendly magpie and butcherbirds too. We are in a koala zone and occasionally get visitors during breeding season, and there's been a few wallaby sightings recently. We have a small hobby farm with chickens and ducks. We also have a goat, native bees, a worm farm and an aquaponics system Plenty of local activities and events. Too many to list! Beaches, bush and city stuff too The closest activity is the mini-golf at Alexandra Hills Hotel and Conference Centre. The hotel is very handy for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you don't feel like cooking. Family friendly and reasonably priced. There is a playground for kids and a bottle shop. Defibrillator on property. Fire extinguishers on site. Farm Fresh Eggs Available...... Emergency Department 4.5 km away at Redlands Hospital.

ShortStump Ranch offers a welcoming environment with hosts Neil and Paula making guests feel right at home. The proximity to local attractions and facilities makes it a convenient choice for travelers. Many guests appreciate the peaceful setting, despite it being in a suburban area, and the presence of animals adds charm to the experience. However, one review mentions discomfort due to misleading advertising about the camping space.

Great spot for anyone to stay with very welcoming hosts who were a great pleasure to speak to. Absolutely adored the dogs and even got to see a possum throughout the night. I would definitely stay here again if we was doing another trip.

Oasis in the country
16 ft Class B ·
Paula is an excellent host who gave us a lovely welcome to her property. Lots of space for pulling up a camper van with facilities for a camp fire, water and electric. Lots of beautiful animals on the land and surrounds. We got our best sleep in a while in the quiet surroundings! Under a 10 minute drive to Cleveland which is a beautiful seaside town. Paula also took our reservation at short notice. Overall a great experience 10/10.

Falsely advertised - disappointing
22 ft travel trailer · With pets ·
FALSE advertising ! Don’t stay here ! You are camping in their front yard. I don’t know where the 5 acres is because you drive up a short driveway and are in a small grassed area with a view of the main house, the fence to the neighbours and the front gate facing out to the main busy road. Is right next door to a massive pub and night club. I was selective in selecting the site that stated it was the one most private but all 4 of the available sites are all together in a small patch that is the front lawn. The photos and wording used in this Hipcamp ad is false advertisement at its finest! The host greeted us upon arrival and was polite and nice but I openly said I did not feel comfortable staying as there was a tent camped up that looked like squatters and the host even said “they shouldn’t be here still”. Then a camper trailer set up across from them which the host said “they set up where we should be and are taking up more room then they should” ?!?!?! I said to my husband in front of the host turn around and leave please I don’t feel comfortable staying here. the host proceeded to say she would refund us half the amount we paid (we paid a total of $60 for the one night - WAYYYY overpriced!) So a negative but factual review is posted to warn future potential campers of the false advertising of this place. Very disappointing!
