At the foot of the Watagan mountains, close to the Watagan 4WD tracks, picnic areas, and bike tracks. Also close to Lake Macquarie where you will find fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing etc. About a 20 - 40 min drive to beautiful beaches. Ideal for those wanting to be surrounded by birds, nature and a couple of friendly doggos. Also great for people wanting to try out their new camper, van or tent for the 1st time as we are an easy 1 hour drive north of Sydney on the M1 and close enough to shops for those forgotten items. Also we have unfenced dams and waterways, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking. We have very basic bathroom facilities of 1 flushing toilet in the shed and an outdoor warm shower. Please read the site rules and camping conditions to ensure this site suits your needs.

This is an open flat sunny site by the dam. As it is directly by the dam it is not suitable for very small children. There are two sites for Brookes Nook one by each dam. Drinking water and toilet are about 50 meters away in the shack.

This is a large open campsite under a giant pine tree, with views of almost the entire property. Behind the site is bush leading down to the creek. There are a few walks down there, a bike track for the kids, plenty of fallen wood to collect for your campfire and if you are lucky and quiet you might see a deer, wombat, platypus, bandicoot or or a wallaby. You will certainly see and hear a large array of birds.

This is our most popular camping site. A beautiful quiet clearing in the bush. You could be a million miles from anywhere but your a short 3 minuet drive to the shops. Fire pit and an abundance of fallen wood for you to collect. Beautiful glimpses of the dam and it's island and just behind you down the hill is the creek with bush walking tracks to explore. This site can take a single camper or a group.

Totally awesome camping here. We were traveling in a campervan and were allocated a spot at the back of the property, in a private grassy space surrounded by trees/bush. I'm unable to comment about on-site shower/toilet as our campervan was self-contained. There is good separation between the campsites. Each site has a fire-pit (you can buy wood from Lisa or BYO). The serenity, the birds, the towering trees, the clear night skies all added to the magic of this place. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

I loved tent camping in Lisa's land. Lisa and her family were so kind and responsive, whenever we needed them. The only thing that could be better was the toilet which was not very clean.

This place is a paradise. We had a lovely quiet time surrounded by bird song and lush fields and trees. Throughly recommend to anyone wanting an escape without travelling too far.

Amenities need a lot of improvement. I arrived with my fiance and parents but we found the toulet and shower in really bad conditions. I wouldn’t call them rustic. We needed to book and airbnb as we wouldn’t have good experience there. First time that i saw that when camping. We asked for refund but they didnt accept.

The host was very friendly and accommodating, meeting me at the gate and explaing everything (even though it was pouring rain). The instructions to access the site were spot on and I had no trouble finding it. The campsite is picturesque and quiet (except for the occasional "moo" from a neighoring cow). There are lots of trees and a grassy area for camping. In nice weather, it would be idyllic. Unfortunately, when I arrived, there had been torrential rain and the ground was very soggy. I was concerned my front-wheel-drive camper would get bogged and raised my concerns with the host. She was very helpful and found me a much more stable place to park for the night (albeit, slightly less picturesque). There is a single toilet, which is basic, but very clean. The toilet is over 100m from the nearest campsite, which is a problem for me as I routinely get up in the middle of the night to go. For this reason only, I would hesitate to book here again. Otherwise a beautiful location with a great host.

Bunyip's Under the Pine - Primitive
We enjoyed a relaxing camping adventure with two families and younger kids. The grounds were spacious and very quiet off the main road. Large grassy area to camp on with a fire pit provided. Creek at the back and plenty of animals to spot. Other campers were all tucked far away in their own areas and couldn't be heard or seen. Close to drive to town for shops, coffee, kids playground and public swimming pool for hot days. The hosts were lovely and geniune who left you alone, and were always at thier house on the property if you needed help. Basic amenities with shared toilet, shower and town water supply. We brought our own power and solar. We were with another family and their young kids for their first time camping too and both of us will be coming back for another adventure, perhaps with more family and friends who want to camp for the first time in a safe and quiet environment.

Nice and close to the M1, close to the town and a few breweries. Nice private spot, not close to other sites. Lisa and husband are very friendly and quick to respond. If you don’t have your own shower or toilet then I would only recommend a night or two here. We stayed one night to break up the drive and close to the M1 but the toilet and shower facilities is not something I’d want to use for more than a day.

My partner and I spent a lovely New Years break here and we had such a wonderful time. Lisa was such a lovely and understanding host and the campsite felt private and well-maintained. The added bonus of using pine cones as a fire starter was super helpful too! Would definitely recommend! ☺️☺️

Location was good, grounds clean, if you are wanting peace this is a great place.. The only let down for me was the Toilet Shed, although there is one and it works, it was troop to get to and not looked after or clean (not just the toilet itself, but the shed it is in)

Coral Tree Cottage
We loved our stay at the Coral Tree Cottage. Lisa was super helpful and great with communication. The cottage has been renovated but done so to keep the rustic vibe. The reception isn’t the greatest but was super good to go off grid and recharge from a busy life. Would stay again

The bathroom was horrific, you could tell they hadn’t clean it in ages! My mom and I couldn’t even stay there…. They also confirmed my booking through the website but when we got there they had no idea we were coming… this was by far our worst booking experience on this trip

Coming from the north took a long time to reach the place because of roadworks. The track into the location was primitive and narrow. Greeted by owner who showed us to our allocated site. Long grass had not been mowed. Fire pit full of water. Our spot was near a pond overgrown with weed and I was concerned about snakes with our small dog (didn’t see any though). Noisy bird calls all night. We didn’t need to use the toilet and shower. Concerned about possible boggy site if it rained (which it didn’t.) Coming from an immaculate “primitive” site yesterday to this one we were disappointed.

We had a wonderful time camping out there! We’re a pretty experienced and self reliant daddy/daughter camping team…. Lisa was a lovely, friendly host- her sites offer some really nice, shady and sheltered positions and a few little bush walks that we enjoyed exploring. It’s also close enough to civilisation (without it being obvious) that we were able to duck out for a bit and see what else was in the area. Thanks for having us, Lisa! We’ll be back again soon!

We stayed at the powered site mood but didn't use power. Nice and shady from the heat. Toilets weren't the best but better than nothing Quiet ,peaceful and relaxing Would stay again
