The property is easily accessed via wide gates, is fully fenced and offers grassy sites with guests welcome to set up anywhere they please within the top paddock. The site offers access to power, a toilet facility with hand basin (no shower, shower facilities located at Mudgee Pool) and a cosy fire pit perfect to sit by in the evening and watch the colours change over the hills! We offer exclusive use of the paddock (or the lower camping area) to one group at a time so you can enjoy your privacy. The top paddock offers direct access to amenities and power, whereby the lower area offers more seclusion (no power). The property is conveniently located approx 15 mins from both Mudgee and Gulgong townships being on Henry Lawson Drive with occasional passing traffic and is perfectly positioned within 5 mins drive from a range of wineries and a brewery.

We run a sheep farm on our property located north east of Dubbo. This is the land of big sky country. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular here along with starry nights, beside the campfire especially when the full moon arrives. It is nothing short of amazing as you marvel at the sights from the verandah of The Tiny Home or from your campsite. Not far from our property you’ll find the Goonoo CCA Zone 1 National Park. CCA Zone parks are Community Conservation Areas reserved as national parks. The greater Dubbo region offers many activities for tourists, adventure seekers and nature lovers. The Tiny House is fully self-contained with a fold out double bed and a little kitchenette featuring a fridge, microwave, cookware and utensils and a BBQ. The bathroom/laundry are separate. We also offer a campsite for additional family members or friends. You're welcome to go for a swim in the dam which is a short walk away, or take a stroll to the top of the rocky hill to see 360 degree views. Meet the locals (emus) or see the sheep being shorn if your booking coincides at the same time. There is no shade tree's established as yet, which makes the night sky more visible. Pets are by special request only.

Had a good two night stay here. Nice easy access spot for our van. Lovely clean drop toilet with outdoor sink. Fire pit was a bonus to sit around and have a wine as sunset. We're able to gather kindling and some firewood just outside property or bring your own. Close to Mudgee and surrounds for wine tasting and lunch. Only minus was traffic noise, but only during daylight hours, no problem at night.Had a great stay.

Bare open paddock with a fixed fire and a great composting loo (best ive ever used). A little road noise if youre used to dead silence but not intrusive. Not somewhere you'd sit and stay but great for a base to explore from.

Very peaceful camping spot, just the one site, and only the sheep and kangaroos for company. Adam was a good host, gave us some tips for walks in the area of Caper-tee National Park and directions to a great little farm cafe From The Paddock for good coffee and food. We were ther early Spring so not too hot.

Fantastic quiet night. Great instructions. Perfect fireplace, and benefit of having 240v and a roof when a wild storm came through was appreciated. There is a pump or genset on across st the farms all night. Apart from that, no noise! Occasional horsey whinny and a few night birds. We spotlighted microbats. Saw lots of wombat evidence but no Wally. Nice chilly, start to the say, with a hill to the West. Drove further up the valley to walk over Reuben’s trail to Baerami: no go, it means we’d have to access via private property and neighbours at Baramul suggested kindly ‘it might not be wise’.. Thanks Clare we loved the schoolhouse. Esp the monkey bars!

Weekend Trip to Romanche Gap Mudgee

This was my first time using hipcamp and my first time solo camping with my dogs. It was a great spot for this purpose. Almost completely doggy proof fences (my 25-30kg dogs could probably fit through the fence at the entrance if they wanted but they never tried). My dogs loved all the space and it made my day to watch them run around all happy 🙂 The paddock with the toilet and power is right next to the road so you do get the occassional noise of passing vehicles. It is also the paddock right next to the house but there is plenty of space to keep your distance and I never saw anyone while I was there. Compost toilet set up was very convenient. I thought it would be your standard gross drop toilet but it was clean, no smells, instructions on how to use correctly. Sink outside to wash your hands with soap provided. The firepit area is beautiful. They left some wood for me to use but I had brought my own. It being a paddock there's not really any shade so it wouldn't be a good place for a summer camp but it was perfect for winter.

The facilities, including the toilets and showers, were clean and well-maintained. It was great to have access to hot showers. As a tent user, I had asked in advance about the grass length, and it was nicely trimmed just as requested, which made our stay even more comfortable. The site was quiet and offered plenty of privacy. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with hardly anything to complain about. Highly recommended!

Great location with easy access to Mudgee, the wineries and national parks. The camp site was extremely well looked after and had the added bonus of a compost toilet and an abundance of firewood to be used in the supplied firepit. Carly and Ryan were very informative offering suggestions of places to see and eat at.

We had a fantastic stay at Romanche Gap. The site was beautifully neat and freshly mowed, fully fenced 2 acres which made setting up a breeze with our two dogs. The modern, spotless toilet was a real bonus one of the cleanest we’ve come across while camping. The fire pit was perfect for cozy nights under the stars, and the power outlet along the fence line came in handy. The views of the surrounding hills were absolutely stunning and gave the place a peaceful, secluded feel. It’s also in a prime location only a quick 10 min drive into Mudgee to visit all the wineries and for supplies, and just 10 minutes the other way to the charming, historic town of Gulgong. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful property with us. We’ll definitely be back

Amazing base for our week of fieldwork. The schoolhouse is surrounded by beautiful woodlands and wildlife is plentiful. Great touches to the camping experience from the owner, making our week a wonderful experience.
