Overlook Lean-To, Treehouse, primitive campsites, and so much more! This is glamping at its finest. Our property was originally used as a seasonal hunting/fishing camp in the 1920's. Sheila and Bob bought it in the early 80s and have turned it into an amazing compound built for their family. They blinked their eyes and their children are gone, so this beautiful 50 acre diverse property and its private trail system are meant to be shared. Nestled in a mature, private pine forest, this well cared for property boasts abundant wildlife and a network of walking, skiing and mountain biking trails which take you past wetlands, cliffs and a variety of forest types. They have all kinds of lodging options from a beautiful vacation cabin they rent, to an Adk lean-to, to a Treehouse, and primitive campsites. You'll find a little bit for everyone at Adirondack Adventure Base.

Adirondack Vacation Base offers a warm and welcoming experience with Sheila and Bob as attentive hosts. Guests appreciate the thoughtfully arranged campsites and treehouses, complemented by amenities like clean privies and stocked fire pits. While the location is ideal for exploring the Adirondack region, some guests noted the proximity to other renters and occasional road noise. Nonetheless, the property's expansive trails and additional amenities like a cookhouse and private restrooms make it a favored choice for many campers.

We had an amazing time staying at the lean-to. It is equipped with nearly everything one could need (we overpacked). The view is amazing. We saw many deer. The site is private. The hosts are friendly, accommodating and a delight to speak to.

Woodland Grove campsites were very nice. I stayed 2 nights, very quiet, lots of trails to explore. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

My only complaint was road noise . I personally was looking for a little more remoteness .Everything else was perfect .Very clean out houses . Sheila and Will were very helpful in setting up plans and providing us with a safe base camp for our gear. Location was close to areas we were looking for such as lake placid , and saranac lake .

Camping in the Adirondacks
Group trip ·
Our stay at Bob and Sheila's Adirondack lean-to was truly delightful. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by their warm hospitality. Bob and Sheila's passion for camping and the outdoors was evident in every aspect of our experience. They were caring hosts who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The location itself was a haven for nature enthusiasts, surrounded by the beauty of the Adirondack wilderness. We couldn't have asked for a better camping spot, and we look forward to returning in the future. Thank you, Bob and Sheila, for a wonderful adventure in the great outdoors!

Great campground on a very cool property. Striking distance to lots of cool spots like Lake Clear, the Wild Center and Lake Placid. We stayed here for 2 nights with our 7 and 5yo kids during a week long road trip. Would definitely recommend!
