Our property was purchased and farmed by my ancestors in 1803. They cleared the meadow area of trees and rocks and established the stone wall, enclosing the area. A hemlock and pine forest at the edge of the meadow leads to our 50-acre wetland preserve which provides habitat for many bird and wildlife species. Native people also camped, hunted and trapped here in the early 1800s.Learn more about this land:Relax in a secluded meadow, wander through old Hemlock forest trails and watch many varieties of birds and other wildlife on 60 acres of wetland preserve. Conveniently located between the St Lawrence Seaway and the foothill Adirondacks there are lots or opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are plenty of hikes for all abilities and duration. If paddling is more your thing our county has 3 of the 10 longest rivers in NYS along with lakes and reservoirs. The camp was first built in 1905 by Dr. Goldsmith and family. The doctor and his family used the camp for summer vacations. During the winter the camp was rented out as winter hotel for loggers. Ice was harvested from the pond and stored in what is now one of the cabins. When our family bought the place, the hotel was falling down and the buildings were in disrepair. Geoffrey, the family caretaker, has spent the last few years cleaning up the site. All that remains now of the hotel is the chimney while the ice house has become a cabin and has been improved and ready for visitors. We have a double futon, small wood stove and gas burners for a cozy indoor experience. With 840 ft of pond frontage and 4.4 acres you can pitch a tent on the banks of the pond, up in the woods, or stay in the small cabin all are included in the cost of booking! Swimming and boating in the pond is obligatory. Year round fishing has long been a tradition. The spring fed pond is home to large and small mouth bass, northern pike, crappy, and blue gills. There are a number of ponds and state lands nearby. Accommodations include two outhouses and two docks so no waiting. There is a canoe and rowboat available and life jackets. The camp is car accessible Mid-May to the end of September. There are summer cottages across the pond but not much happening on our side. Cedar Lodge, the nearest bar/restaurant, is about 5 minutes away and very popular all year round. The closest gas station and convenience store is about 20 minutes in the village of Parishville.

Located in a hay meadow that is farmed 2 to 3 times a year to provide food for our animals. Next to the meadow is a mix of maple and pine trees. In the spring we use the maple trees for maple syrup production. Learn more about this land:This site is close to the road but easy to access. It is located where there was once an old stone barn, and all that is left is the stone foundation. Set around shrubbery trees, with two big maples at the parking spot to provide shade and coverage. You look out to an open hay meadow. That abuts our maple sugar stand with a mix of pine trees in the woods. You will be able to watch lots of deer frolic and play in the meadow and hear the sounds of the wildlife and birds around the woods. You may hear the occasional horse-drawn carriage as our neighbors are Amish and utilize the road frequently. In the distance, you might hear a stray moo as we have three farms on the road that are home to a variety of cows.On the campsite, you are more than welcome to bring a pet and let them safely roam around the field, or take a walk around yourself. If you are up for a farm adventure, please let us know we are more than happy to share our story and give a tour of our multifunctional farm, featuring dairy production, sheep, goats, cropping, and a few horses. In this unique spot, you will have convenient access to Route 11 and be a short 12 min drive to the town of Canton. Overlook Lean-To, Treehouse, primitive campsites, and so much more! This is glamping at its finest. Our property was originally used as a seasonal hunting/fishing camp in the 1920's. Sheila and Bob bought it in the early 80s and have turned it into an amazing compound built for their family. They blinked their eyes and their children are gone, so this beautiful 50 acre diverse property and its private trail system are meant to be shared. Nestled in a mature, private pine forest, this well cared for property boasts abundant wildlife and a network of walking, skiing and mountain biking trails which take you past wetlands, cliffs and a variety of forest types. They have all kinds of lodging options from a beautiful vacation cabin they rent, to an Adk lean-to, to a Treehouse, and primitive campsites. You'll find a little bit for everyone at Adirondack Adventure Base.

Around us, we have a nature preserve that allows for walks and wildlife sittings, the Grass River where you can kayak and swim.

Overview

About

Hugging the shores of Lake St. Lawrence, Coles Creek State Park is water-loving outdoor’s men (or women’s) dream. Here, you’ll be treated to the area’s scenic boating endeavours and rod-tugging fishing outings. And, better yet, you’re able to bring your quadrupedal family members with you―just not in the park’s designated picnic areas, unfortunately. As far as amenities are concerned, Coles Creek State Park is well-equipped with modern day amenities like showing units and playgrounds geared toward the younger demographics. Coles Creek State Park is a fantastic outlet to bond with Mother Nature―and bring your best friend too. But just make sure that friend’s on a six-foot or shorter leash.
