Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Cross Timbers State Park adventure.
Discover Cross Timbers State Park's diverse landscapes and outdoor adventures.
If you’re craving a change in elevation, head to Cross Timbers State Park. You can explore the gently rolling hills of the Verdigris River Valley and surround yourself with a panoramic view of oak savannah. Activities include wildlife viewing (or participating), backpacking (we hear the Ancient Trees Trail is where it’s at), fishing in the river or on the reservoir, dancing to the songbirds, swimming, and boating. At night the campfires are visited by whiskey, beer, or marshmallows, and you’ll sleep peacefully in your tent or RV beneath an ocean of stars!
The best time to visit Cross Timbers State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural scenery is at its most vibrant. Summer offers full access to all park amenities but can be hot. Winters are quieter and cooler, with limited facilities.
