With dark blue waters and a shoreline ringed by conifer trees and Cascade peaks, Diamond Lake is a classic Southern Oregon camping destination.

Umpqua National Forest's Diamond Lake Campground has 238 reservable and walk-in campsites that fill up quickly when the weather’s good. The campground also has two boat launches and access to an 11-mile bike-and-hike trail that circles the lake. Tent and RV sites come with picnic tables, fire pits, and access to restrooms, showers, and a dump station. Even better, Diamond Lake Campground is just 10 minutes away from the North Entrance to Crater Lake National Park.

Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation

  • From the start of the season in mid-June through Labor Day, all Diamond Lake campsites are reservable six months in advance but no less than five days out. Sites can be reserved online or by calling (877) 444-6777.
  • All campsites with openings available in the next four days are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If you’re arriving without a reservation and want to snag a walk-in site, check the campground listings online to see which specific sites are first-come, first-served.
  • After Labor Day, all campsites at Diamond Lake Campground are first-come, first-served until the end of the season (typically some time in September or October).

    • When to Go

    This seasonal campground is typically open from mid-June to September. Because the campground is at 5,180 feet, the summer weather is mild, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the 40s. During summer visits, you'll want to bring cold-weather gear and mosquito protection. For current season information, contact the Diamond Lake Ranger District at (541) 498-2531.

    Our property has been in business in one way or another for over 70 years. The stick built cabins are pre 1950's and no one really knows for sure how old they truly are. We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. We offer free use of our Old Town Canoes to paddle along it's extent and on up creek to a beaver damn. There is a fun hiking trail that runs over two bridges that span the creek, one covered and one floating. We also offer free catch and release fishing, there are Rainbow and Brown Trout in our waters. Fort Klamath is the birthplace and home of the US Army 1st Cavalry and our property is located on the the Forts Southeastern grounds. We are 9 miles from the southern border of the National Park and 23 miles from the southern Rim and Rim Village. Please note: We do allow pets in some of our sites for $10 per night. If you plan to bring a pet, please add the pet fee which is listed under "Extras" during the booking process.

Sit on the porch and enjoy the solitude only minutes from Oakridge. Grocery store, etc... all available in Oakridge. Beautiful, safe and secluded. Elk, deer, and other forest critters live here too. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

After viewing the amazing star-filled night skies, fall into a deep relaxed sleep and wake up to birds singing, enjoy your coffee and a nature walk. This serene and quiet RV spot consists of an open space nestled in beautiful mixed woodlands of mature doug fir, cedar, pine and madrone on our 60 acre property (You won’t see our house or shop since these RV spot is on the other side of the property). RV space has 50 amp power, well water and RV sewer. Your own toilet is a must. Be prepared to “Pac-in, pack-out.”  This is a protected wilderness area. There’s a mix of sun and shade. At approximately 2600 ft elevation, a fresh gentle breeze significantly cools the late afternoon and evening summer temperatures. Most cell service carriers do get reception at this location, however, there is no WIFI. This can be a pull-through-and-around area. A long RV/trailer may need to make a y turn.  Short distance nature trails in the adjacent woodlands can be enjoyed in the immediate area. You will be alone in this no-frills spot. Just you and nature and your RV home.

    I have two acres of land separate from my home, pretty much wooded property ideal for tent camping or sleeping in your car you are off the road a bit with privacy in a secure safe environment. You will find shells between the trees and solar lights at each campsite for your convenience.On the two acres, there's a Porta-Potty available, and all my guest will receive a welcome bag, as a thank you for booking with River Pines. There is four campsites of your choosing to choose from.The river is within walking distance, easily accessible off the main road, just about two car lengths away, off Sunna Ln. Additionally, I have a gravel driveway, mostly level, with room for one RV on the main driveway off Sprague River Road. This spot offers a river view and access for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. It's approximately 5 miles to the town of Chiloquin, about 35 miles from Crater Lake, roughly 12 miles from Collier Park Museum (a logging museum), and Spring Creek, around 32 miles to Klamath Falls.     Camped here on a road trip from California. Visited Crater lake and headed to this campsite on my way to Portland the next day. Wow was I blown away by the beauty, the sunrise was unreal. I woke up to a gigantic mountain with fresh snow on top. The campsite was easy to find with great bathrooms and showers.

    Heavily wooded, spaced out campsites make this place special. You get privacy, and if you aren't lucky enough to get a campsite on the lake it's a short walk from all the campsites. Make sure to get there before check-in closes around 8 though, and it is a drive to get to the showers. Very close to crater lake, but if you enter at popular times there is a car backup at the entryway. Would recommend!

    Biking

    The 11-mile, multi-use trail surrounding Diamond Lake makes for a great kid-friendly ride. Mountain bikers can also access the single-track North Umpqua Trail nearby at Tokatee Lake.
