Grandpa had a dream of building cabins for his granddaughters. Ruby is the first grandchild and this cabin was built for her. Jay and Tamara (Ruby’s grandparents) bought this acreage in 1998 and are excited to share their special place with other people who love the outdoors while being with family and friends. This is a rustic, off the grid, cabin experience that you will never forget. Almost 200 acres of forest are available to explore. Winter, our second granddaughter is expecting grandpa to get her cabin finished soon. Cabin with loft can sleep 6. Think of it as camping with walls and extras thrown in. Air beds provided, bring your own sleeping bags. Outhouse provided. Additional tents and people are allowed for an additional 15.00 per tent/2 people. Additional RV’s are allowed for 15.00 per RV. Area for tents and RV’s is large grassy wooded area. Great for large gatherings of friends or family who enjoy camping. Fire pit and bar-b-que provided, pavilion for shelter at fire pit area is in the process of construction. Mountain bike/hiking trails run throughout property as well as National forest trails within a few miles. North Fork River swimming 10 minutes away. Golf course across Westoak Rd. Sit on the porch and enjoy the solitude only minutes from Oakridge. Grocery store, etc... all available in Oakridge. Beautiful, safe and secluded. Elk, deer, and other forest critters live here too. Well behaved dogs are welcome.Cabin with loft can sleep 6. Think of it as camping with walls and extras thrown in. 2 queen size Memory foam/airbeds provided, bring your own sleeping bags. Two twin size daybeds provided. Bring sleeping bags or extra blankets. Outhouse provided. Additional tents and people are allowed for an additional $10 per adult. Kids stay free. Additional RV’s and tents are allowed. Area for tents and RV’s is large grassy wooded area. Great for large gatherings of friends or family who enjoy camping. Fire pit and bar-b-que provided, pavilion for shelter at fire pit has a propane fire pit that is usable during fire season. Seating at the shelter is under cover. Close to 200 acres to explore. Campfires allowed

Firewood provided, firepit. Wood stove in cabin. Wood provided. Please follow directions for use at cabin. Guests must follow the guidelines of Willamette National Forest’s campfire regulations. Shovel and water close to fire pit. There is a propane fire pit available as well as wood fire pit.

Toilet available

Pit toilet. Outhouse 100 ft from cabin. Water for washing hands at outhouse. Gravity feed.

Pets allowed

Off leash, on leash. Well behaved dogs are welcome. We have a lot of deer and elk and don’t want them to be chased.

Potable water available

Hose, bottled water or jugs. We will provide jugs of drinking water and access to additional water. Hose and water provided by garden for washing off mountain bikes or filling water jugs etc... We have an excellent well with fresh, pure water.

Showers available

Cold water only. There are two solar showers that can be used.

Bins available

Recycling bin, trash bin. Garbage must be dropped off in receptacles at main residence.

Cooking equipment present

Grill over firepit, bbq, stovetop or hot plate, cookware, cooking utensils, dishware, cutlery, sink or other dishwashing station. Basic cooking supplies are at cabin. Pots, pans, some utensils. Paper plates, cutlery etc... We are experienced campers if you forgot something or need something we are willing to share. If you have your own supplies bring them too. You will need coolers for your food.

Picnic table present

There are additional chairs for pavilion/fire pit area. We have extra chairs for large groups upon request.

No wifi

There is cell service in the area if you walk out into the field. We have good luck with ATT. We have wifi at the house that you can access if you walk or drive close enough.

Can't wait to come back again!

We loved staying at Ruby's Cabin, best cabin hands down I've ever stayed at! It had all the amenities you could think of to help make your stay the best it could possibly be. We visited during the winter time in February and even though it was cold outside we stayed nice and warm in the cabin with the wood stove. We cannot wait to come back here in the summer time!

With kids

The hosts exceeded all expectations. We overpacked, unknowingly. My partner also says he still can't believe how perfect it was. Dont change a thing! We saw the Salmon Creek falls despite the weather mid December. The woodstove does the job in keeping things toasty. The outside kitchen has all the cookware you're going to need. The outhouse is so nice and has a great handwashing station. The cabin is stocked with first aid, extra blankets, kids toys, alcohol markers, crayons, color pencils, board games, etc. Outside there is croquet, bocce balls, giant jenga, a Whipple ball, a fire pit... I can't name everything and how great this place was. Not to mention the DETAILS... the art work, the craftsmanship of the cabin itself. 11/10. Can't wait to come back this summer!

Peaceful alone time with the dogs!

Absolutely lovely getaway to an amazing property and location! Beautiful and inspiring off grid space done very well. Myself and 3 old dogs found comfort just relaxing, enjoying the outdoor kitchen, and having access to their trails for adventuring. Lovely, welcoming, and generous hosts. Enjoyed a viewing of the local elk herd on the final morning! Will be back for sure! Take care and thanks for having us!
