Being just two miles from the park office makes it accessible for all levels of backpacker, but still gets you away from the riff-raff, aka vehicles. If carrying all your gear on your back sounds like a pain in your neck, stay at one of the vacation cabins or at the large family camping area, with all the cushy amenities you crave as well as ranger led interpretive programs at the amphitheater. Either way, you will love all the fun and beauty that Morrow Mountain State park has to offer.

The Dancing Pig On Abbotts Creek

Very low light pollution, our land is great for serene gazing of the stars at night. We have one camp spot with full hook-ups- water, power (50A, 30A, 20A), sewer. Our field is large enough to accommodate multiple RVs and provides several dry camping sites for a fun and memorable experience! 100 yard driveway with gated entrance for extra comfort and security. Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat

Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat is a small slice of paradise in Mocksville NC. We are the last property at the end of a dirt road surrounded by woods on all sides. We built this space as our little stay-cation spot and knew we had to share it. We are passionate about what we do and work hard to continue to build and grow and share this beautiful space for others to enjoy. We have 3 primitive sites and 2 authentic tee-pees. There is a bath house with a heated shower, and a port-a-john that is cleaned regularly. There are 2 picnic areas with charcoal grills. We have a 24x16 enclosed stage that can be used for bands, educational classes, karaoke, yoga... ect. There is also an outdoor movie theater that is available to rent for an evening. There are a few restaurants close by and we are only 6 miles from downtown Mocksville. There are a lot of wineries and breweries within a 30 min drive from our property. We are about 15 minutes from river access to the Yadkin river for anyone looking to Kayak. There are lots of local fishing holes and places to go horseback riding. We are about an hour drive to lots of different hiking trails from pilot mountain, and hanging rock to the blue ridge parkway. We have 2 dogs that live here and will greet you at the gate. Please be respectful of the neighbors and drive slowly down the dirt road to our property to limit dust. We look forward to hosting your camping get away.

Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; learn about archaeology, history, plants, and mead making; and get eggs and homegrown seasonal food. Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our ca. 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, wineries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.
