JMA Campground is located about 15 minutes west of Riverton, Wyoming.
Outstanding views of the Wind River Mountain Range and the Owl Creek Mountain Range. We do not have trees or green grass - bring your own shade. LOL
We have 30 and 50 amp RV sites (each site has water) along with primitive tent sites. Amenities at the park include WiFi, fire pits, firewood, shower and restroom facilities, picnic areas, trash services and a RV dump station available for $15. Visitors can take advantage of the various outdoor activities such as basketball, hiking, biking and stargazing.
Our campers enjoy our quiet solitude - we're not located along a busy noisy highway! Jim and I established our place in 1983. We produced team ropings and barrel racing jackpots for nearly 40 years - we no longer produce rodeo events (due to health). In 2017, we decided to share our property with campers - we have cherished each and every moment - we have made so many friends!
From the JMA Campground, it is 50 miles to Thermopolis (hot springs, whitewater rafting, fishing, buffalo, dinosaur museum, etc.); 60 miles to the National Military Museum in Dubois; 130 miles to the South Entrance of Grand Teton National Park; 45 miles to Lander; 70 miles to South Pass City - many other local attractions.
Jim Moss Arena Campground offers a warm welcome with its friendly hosts, Paulette and Jim, who make every guest feel right at home. The campground is praised for its clean facilities, beautiful views, and a peaceful atmosphere that invites relaxation under vast Wyoming skies. With plenty of space for tents or RVs, and the presence of charming animals like horses and bunnies, it's a delightful stop for travelers with or without pets. Visitors appreciate the convenient amenities, including showers and WiFi, making it a comfortable and memorable camping experience.
Such a cool and safe spot! Remote & wide open range drive to the property. Paulette was so accommodating and kind with our arrival. When we stayed here it was soooo snowy & even then it was such a cool experience! We have a car rig set up and it worked great. Bathrooms were clean and accessible! Would stay here again if traveling through.
It was my first time finding a campsite through Hipcamp and I was a little nervous. The experience was great! Paulette greeted us when we arrived and she was so welcoming. She showed us the bathroom (which was very clean), she picked out a nice area for us to set up our tent, and where to hook up to the outlets. I was disappointed because we were there so late in the season and only for one night. It would have been nice to stay there when there were a few more campers because the entertaining spots she has look like they would be a lot of fun! I’ve already recommended that my friend stay there when she’s driving through. Many thanks to Paulette, Griz, Jim (and the horse we didn’t get the name of but we were happy to give it some pats)!
A friendly greeting, a relaxed and quiet ranch setting, completely enjoyable.
