Full disclosure, I ended up not staying here after about 10 minutes of arriving and looking around. This place could be great, right on a beautiful river, but it looked nothing like the pristine photos from the listing. I managed to get down the steep hill in my van but getting back up was a little scary and I did skid a bit.
The site looked trashed and like no one had been there or maintained it since the last campers. The fire pit had cans in it, there was a bottle and kids goggles under the table, tall weeds growing around the fire pit, and it looked like someone had thrown dirt and rocks all over the tables. You would think that knowing someone was going to be staying there you would check in on it.
The owners had their truck there as they were taking people on a fishing trip, so it’s not really a private spot.
As a woman staying alone it just made me worried that people come up from hanging out on the river and use the space or the toilet.
The host was responsive and got back to me quickly and said he’s sorry it’s not why I expected and the weeds got away from them. I don’t care about weeds, I just expected it to look something like the listing and not trashed.
